An interesting part of this move is that it will free up $5.5 million in cap space for Pittsburgh in 2026, which gives the organization some more flexibility to make a move during free agency. This should allow the franchise to bolster the roster even more, either by signing a player or by trading for somebody that may be on the market.

Seriously, that’s good! He had another solid season so I’m glad they took care of him again.
Now I wonder what will happen with Queen?
He has a roster bonus coming up soon and a few teams have made inquiries. We shall see!

It's his off the field mouth and lack of true leadership skills that people are tired of...the whole Porter on Ben thing, any time someone would question Tomlin he'd pipe in with the company line.

Like when Najee critiqued the practices, Cam came at him hard, in the press, then on his podcast...
 
Scam decided to do things more properly this time and work a deal early and not be a complete a-hole waiting for roster bonus then extorting the team.

Likely had a clue that MM wouldn’t just let him be a detriment to the squad and complete ***** like Tomlin would.
 
It’s actually a smarter move for the PS and mutually good for Heyward. Seems like his swan song extension and his last year. I wish he would’ve went on with his life’s work this year but it is what it is. Makes me wonder what the next move is with them opening up 5.5 mil on the cap. Signing Herbig to a deal? Extending Boz?
 
Well, it is good that this was handled early. I really hope a Boz extension gets done quickly as prices are like to escalate quickly. And I hope Herbig gets a respectful deal.

My biggest worry is JPJ. Extending him asap is a big deal, will be a big deal, and needs done ASAP. It's gonna cost ~ $25M/year, so let's just get it done ASAP. His dad is gonna remember real well that he had to leave to get paid a generation ago.

Spoken like someone who takes him for granted. There was A LOT of kicker turnover last year. The giants went thru 5 kickers, bills 4, colts falcons and raiders 3 each. Boz is clutch, and still one of the best.

I certainly appreciate his talent and quite frankly, all the wins that he has given us over the years.
But my opinion, he’s starting to show some kinks in his armor.
Don’t know about all of you out there, but when they brought Boswell on to kick a field goal or an extra point, I would almost treat that like a commercial break and get a cold drink or take a leak. The last year year and a half those moments Have become more “must see TV” then they used to..
I’m in favor of signing him, but they should be very careful in the negotiations.
NFL kickers usually do not fade away quietly… it seems that mostly it’s a hard stop.

I remember Najee Harris taking a shot at the state of the facilities and how the offense had no identity, but don't remember anything about the practices.

Sorry your so triggered by Cam's widdle words, maybe its time for a warm bottle and a nap for ya.

But whatever he said he backed it up on the field, his 90.4 grade was #1 for all interior defensive linemen in the league last year.

Najee indeed call the practices “soft” as well as a few other negative words I believe it was unfocused, undisciplined and lacking identity speaking to the game plans and practices.

Maybe ya need a widdle nap and warm bottle to refresh your memory…see how stupid that shyte sounds when someone says it to you jr. ???

Dude was an absolute pos last year in the offseason so many still feel a sort a way about him they didn’t previously.

He’s not a leader, never has been with the PS…unless ya call a Tomlin yes man leadership…then he’s a helluva leader.

That grade is meaningless as it comes from a meaningless stat site. Anyone with eyeballs realizes he is not the best in the league, not even close. Top 5-10 sure, but Father Time is knocking at his door and he’ll be over the cliff soon.

Giving him another year was very generous by the FO.

Ohhh didn't know Cam was such a trend setter.. the very first NFL player to try to re-negotiate or ask for an extension while under contract.

So when the team captain defends the team against some negative comments he's the bad guy LOL.

And of course PFF is a crap site because it doesn't help your argument. But please grace us with your vast knowledge since you watched all the IDL across the league to come up with your views. Don't forget to grab your pink woobie junior.

The culture of the team went down on Cam's watch. Throw in Watt also. No lockerroom accountability with these 2 as our team leaders. It is what it is. Will both be HOFers? Probably. Post season they both got us a combined 1 playoff victory. During Cam's rookie season when he rarely saw the field.

Yep, get the extensions done before the market resets from other teams.

He needs to be the highest paid kicker in the league even if it's only for a few days. Dude has earned it, Boz has won more games for us than most of our QB's since Ben left. PAY THE YOUNG MAN.

****, I sleep walk all the time………… sometimes I even kick my legs and yelp……..

One time one of my G-strings snapped and got tangled up in my legs. That caused me to take a major fall………… and get entangled in gutter debris…….

I’m lucky it didn’t happen near the Kentuckian’s house……….. I’d been considered warm road kill….. a delicacy…. And a warm date……..
