Ticket Price Increase

For ***** and giggles, I logged onto my season ticket account today and noticed that prices are going up. I don't know exactly what the increase is because I had some credits last year from selling some of the games, but it appears about a 5-7% increase. I also noticed that the upper endzone seats that have always been the same price regardless of location have been split into one tier for Rows A-E and another tier for the rest.
 
Hmmm! Wonder if the product on the field will increase?
Idk I just cant seem to get excited or enthusiastic about this organization any longer.
It reminds me so much of the late 50’s and 60’s as a kid in Pittsburgh when the organization was a total joke with a total joke of an owner Art Sr.
Hired bad coaches, traded away premium draft picks, brought in old slugs from other teams, and never, ever got close to winning anything.
Same thing with Art II as grandpa. Both men just not competent owners.
I’m trying here guys but it’s difficult.

That really seems to be a stretch. We may have not won a payoff game in while but the comparing this to 50-60’s when we didn’t win anything and were the laughing stock of the league is insane. Losing seasons were the norm, we haven’t had a losing season in what, 23 years or so? Complain all you want about the playoffs, that is fair but let’s not get ridiculous.

Non losing seasons mean next to ******* nothing. There is no value in non losing seasons. You’re never near good enough to realistically compete for what the goal should be, a championship, but you’re not bad enough to qualify for top draft picks. That’s not a good place to be,
We are now conducting business like we did in that time span with coaching hires, bad draft picks, trading away premium picks, bringing in old retread players. You keep hanging on and I’ll buy my popcorn.

AGAIN, They may not be great but they are are a hell of a lot better than the 30’s 40’s 50’s and 60’s as you are trying to compare. I am not celebrating them but you tried to compare it to the dark days of the franchise and that is absolutely a ridiculous comparison. We just made the playoffs but are sitting with 12 picks, 5 in the top 100 and top 6 in cap space. JFC people act like we are in cap hell have no draft capital and no talent. GTFOH with some of the crap.

Made the playoffs! Yeah right! More like backed into the playoffs because of a game ending missed FG.
The comparison with the past was never, ever about records of wins and loses, it was about how business is being conducted today.
And about 12 draft picks! It’s not about the number of picks genius, it’s all about how you use those picks. They’ve made some very questionable high draft picks that did not get a second contract.
Kenny Pickett, Najee Harris, Devin Bush (a really high pick), George Pickens, quite possibly Broderick Jones. It’s all in how you use those picks!
FA signings and trades nothing to brag about! Patrick Queen, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Jonnu Smith, Patrick Ramsey, DK Metcalf.
Bad extensions… TJ Watt with a horrible contract they are stuck with now.
You’re from Ohio, go support the ******* Bengals. At least they have a franchise QB.

TJs contract is not hurting us one iota. Tomlin is gone. McCarthy hasn’t made a single move yet working with Omar and you are bitching up a ******* storm. Number one, Tomlin was a ******* joke who was protected for years and built exactly what? NOTHING!
Mike McCarthy alias John Candy got fired in GB because he repeatedly lost in the playoffs year after year after year. Count them, eight years of playoff losses and that’s with the great Aaron Rodgers.
Then he goes to Dallas and can’t even buy a playoff win and gets fired
That’s one of my original points that this current owner is totally clueless just like grandpa was. Hires a twice fired almost 63 year old HC who can’t win in the playoffs. Fits in does he not. Just like Magic Mike!
TJ’s contract is ridiculous. 41 million this season because he had to be paid more than two time DOY Miles Garrett. The smart move would have been let him play last year in his old contract and see how the 2025 season turned out. If he had a great season, then sign him in this off season or franchise him. Now they’re stuck with that stupid contract.
Your boy Tomlin has left the kitchen pretty dame bare. No QB, one number two WR, no LT, a ridiculously over priced and under performing defense.
You better keep in mind that everywhere McCarthy was a HC he had pretty damn good QBs.

McCarthy was on staff in SF when he preferred drafting Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers in 2005.
Yeah, he’s the QB whisperer we really needed.
No, I’m realistic and this this ******* owner has ruined what his father helped build with making a lazy hire that he thinks is a safe hire.
I remember McCarthy in Dallas and listened to all the Cowboy’s fans bitching about this guy down here in Texas.

Nope, they had to wait until 2004 to draft Ben, but they made three AFCG’s and one SB with Neil O’Donnell and Kordell Stewart.
The difference was the organization had a real HC in Bill Cowher who knew how to assemble a competent staff unlike the overrated Tomlin who from 2011 to 2021 couldn’t win anything with Ben.
Of course your buddy Tomlin had the answers when he brought in Trubisky, Fields, Wilson, and Rodgers.
And let’s not forget he had to make sure we traded our first round pick in 2020 which turned out to be the tenth overall pick for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
That was the draft to keep that pick and move up and draft a Justin Herbert.
I think you should go follow your boy Tomlin and support his new team. The Pottstown Firebirds and their QB Uncle Rico.

You want Tomlin gone you got it you want an offensive minded head coach you got it but now you’re not happy with any of that. Why don’t you chill out and see how the massive changes that we’re going through are going to work out before you keep sobbing in your vagina.

You have a few legitimate complaints, but you haven’t given them any chance to see how things go since you got your way and the Coach is gone. You can’t even wait to see how the ******* combine goes or the free agency period or draft.

How long you been following this franchise jr, 10, 15, 20 years? Some of us here been loyal for many ******* decades and have seen most of everything.
The point being that this owner is not a good owner. He’s completely satisfied with being just above the mean. His father always strived for much more like championships.This owner has absolutely no business running this organization.
It’s more and more obvious every day that this guy is in control.
He was afraid to fire Tomlin who should have been gone years ago. Then he gets a chance to reset things and what does he do, hire a twice fired coach.
I’ll sit back and watch but I’m telling you for your own sanity, don’t get too invested in this thing. This has all the makings of a disaster.
 
I see both sides of the coin here. I see the need to see what a new coaching staff and a mountain of picks and cap space can bring and I see Rooney road blocking the team from rebuilding.

How many times have we seen between a good debate that needle sits in the middle fluctuating back n forth.

Pretty much where it is for me.

I am excited for the draft to be here in Pittsburgh as I have off and will be right in the middle of the Sparta madness of flocks of fans and move if you can.😅

Try 54 years,”junior”, been a Steelers fan since I was born. I remember Super Bowl parties with my parents in the 70’s and have been going to games since 79.

If you think the owner is so bad why do you bother watching? You are so upset and angry without even waiting to see what things look like going forward I don’t see why you bother. You would think you were a ******* Bengals the way you ***** and moan. In fact you do sound like many of the loser Bengals fans around here. Hell many of them want Burrow traded, the coach fired and Tomlin hired.

Oh come one let us have our fun. What else is there to do in the offseason than argue. The only thing missing is the beer and laughs after the name calling.

That’s good that the guy Lebanon is optimistic about our team but I’m just not all that optimistic.
I don’t trust Art II for several reasons but the biggest is his refusal to admit that he needs to rebuild or retool. Idk why he sees that as such a bad thing or a failure because it’s not. That’s how as we all know how you build successful franchises and not by bringing in aged veterans and 43 year old QBs.
I’m just not confident and this hire of McCarthy really pushed me over to the negative side I’m afraid.
He’s not a bad coach just not what we needed at this point. Why move away from the blueprint of hiring a young HC to hire a twice fired old coach? It just seems to me like a lazy and safe hire by Art II.
 
They used to raise the ticket prices every two years, no clue now since everything is online and they don't send out much communication in the mail anymore. The price hikes have been pretty steep, too.

There is a nice perk with playoff tickets if you enter the pay-as-they-play program. Last year's playoff tickets were cheaper than the B-tier (AFCN) games, which is remarkable.

Ok I see, you came out of the cradle waving your terrible towel, I got ya.
While you were sleeping in your cradle with your terrible towel I was over at Three Rivers Stadium in the 70’s taking in the action. And yes I had the privilege of attending the Immaculate Reception game since I was a season ticket holder in the 70’s.
I go back to old Pitt stadium picking splinters out of my *** from sitting on the wooden bleachers and climbing Cardiac Hill in Oakland.
I know ALL there is to know about the black n’gold.
You keep your optimism going. Maybe I’ll get there idk, just not liking what this owner is all about.
It took Dan years to shed the loser image and build the image of greatness and it just pisses me off to see this clown settle for mediocre results.
I can’t get behind that and think he’s a lousy owner that’s making this organization an afterthought.

I went off after the hire so I get it and you.

I could walk right down to negative avenue and then I’d take it higher. Oh, out in the street, out in the street, out in the daytime, out in the night.

We can hang there sure, so it made me just find somewhere else I could hang until we see the results….

Now in the street, there is violence
And, and a lots of work to be done
No place to hang out our washing
And, and I can't blame all on the son…

Or just maybe I can. 😅

Look I apologize if I got too antagonistic. You are entitled to your opinion but I just don’t understand not at least waiting to see what happens. It would be different if nothing changed but a lot has. I think he did this simply because he didn’t live any of the young choices or at least didn’t think they were ready. Hiring McCarthy is relatively safe as you say but it is also smart if you didn’t like the options available as it lets you wait a few years and find someone who you really like when Mike is ready to retire and hopefully has a QB in place. It wasn’t sexy but it may have been the right choice for the short term.
