The civil rights movement had to happen, and he was involved in it deeply. He lost his way for a while, and wisely stepped back from the public light as a result.

God bless him. Pray for his family.

That's where I am at with him, but unlike Al Sharpton, JJ decided to slip into the background. My guess is that he thought his involvement would tarnish the cause? Just a guess. Sharpton is a self serving opportunist, IMO.

If he was alive,I'd say exactly what I thought he was. Which i did in the past.He certainly was far,far,far from being a Reverend.
