He tried. He failed. He succeeded.

The civil rights movement had to happen, and he was involved in it deeply. He lost his way for a while, and wisely stepped back from the public light as a result.

God bless him. Pray for his family.

Pray for this nation.

Still processing my emotions upon hearing this news. Early in his life he was a force doing God's work, I truly believe that. Later in life, he lost his way, as you said, and he tarnished his reputation. I'll leave it at that.

Rest in peace, Mr. Jackson
That's where I am at with him, but unlike Al Sharpton, JJ decided to slip into the background. My guess is that he thought his involvement would tarnish the cause? Just a guess. Sharpton is a self serving opportunist, IMO.

Fitting he died during black history month. Good timing “Reverend” Jackson.

In my humble opinion, he lost his way as well as many others with one word

You know my mother always told me,if you don't have something good to say about someone, then say nothing...

RIP.

Seems everyone is being mindful of that.

My mamma once told me if you don’t have anything nice to say about anyone then they must be asswholes.
Wise woman my mamma.
