Ben attacked verbally by Joey Porter Sr. Where is Coryea?

Odd timing Peezy. Not sure what was the point on crapping on his former players. Just not needed.

Add in it’s a shot at the Steelers organization as well. Ben was a big part of this Franchise and is still respected mountainously.

Joey Porter’s son plays for the Steelers…………. Not following the rhyme or reason other than Sr. Needing relevance.

everyone says that

I haven’t…….. I’ve always respected your vast football acumen, but have left your butt alone.!!!

I will say it, screw JP Sr. Here he wants a jobby job with the Steelers, but then goes and pisses into the wind on one of our franchise's best QBs. JP Sr. had a hard on for Mr. Cool Shades and anyone that said differently is on his list. Do you realize how long it took Ben to agree with fans that MT should go? A long long time.

As for Ben not being a bad locker room teammate? Quite possibly, but shouldn't that come from someone that actually played a lot longer with Ben? Like Hines or AB? Not this 2 year teammate on Defense. JP Sr. should be worried about securing a ground floor room in JPJ's house. Sure, Ben was a loaner in the locker room, but maybe not to those that lined up on O each day.

And Rudolph, launch that back stabber. His agreeing with JP Sr. is enough of that. Take your porn stash and go home!

Yeah, slow offseason.

Former glory fading, gotta say something to garner attention

Porter is carrying MT's water here, nothing more. He's picking on the guys who wanted Mike out.

I still do not believe Ben was a bad teammate. He was friends with Heath Miller, Pouncey, Big Al, DeCastro, and many others.
What did he do that would have made him a bad teammate? He took accountability for the most part and I don’t remember him throwing guys under the bus.

I think there's a big difference between young Ben (first 4-5 years) and older Ben. The young version seemed like someone who wouldn't be liked in the locker room by vets. That's JP's timeframe.
Ben himself has said many times he should have been a better teammate, and had the bright lights/big city influence. After the Milledgeville incident his family and Mr. Rooney (Dan) had an intervention with him to reassess his actions. After that he started to acknowledge changes were needed or he would self destruct. Met his wife and started making better choices. A lot of folks forget how young Ben was early in his professional career and felt immortal. Chin told many times he had plenty time to ride his motorcycle after his playing days were done. Hell, Bradshaw even pleaded with him to park the bike until he was done playing.

Ben’s closest teammates were on offense, primarily the OL but Pounce, Heath, DeCastro and Big Al was his inner circle. Just as Peezy’s were on Defense with, Potsie, Aaron Smith, Ike Taylor, Troy and Clark were all real tight. Even more so with Coach LeBeau. Porter left before Ben’s attitude completely changed. But Peezy on Cam’s podcast laid out everything true about Deebo’s mentality. Joey has a talented kid in the league, so he knows he needs to be careful for his sake, but Harrison taking potshots at the coach who revitalized his carrier was on point. Not sure about where Ben bad mouthing Tomlin comes from, as Ben has always praised him, even more so than Cowher.

The biggest issue that Ben has addressed was his basic refusal to mentor back up QBs (Batch and Leftwich didn’t need it). Landry Jones and Mason being the central figures. Ben’s opinion on mentoring was similar to Farve, watch and learn I’m trying to win games. Sure it was arrogant, but some players are wired that way.

Ben should tell JP to spit Tomlins dick out so people could actually understand the words coming out of his mouth. hard to believe some of the ******* actually went to college

Cam Heyward brought up that everyone has been bashing Mike T since he retired and Porter went off. A bunch of current and former Steelers responded in support of Porter.

Whatever. He was fun to watch and led the Steelers to a lot of winning football and a couple of Super Bowls along the way.

The title of this thread cracked me up because as soon as I heard the story on the radio, I was waiting to read Coryea's response.

He’s not a ****-ing leader, he’s a cancer and trouble.

Exactly why I put Coryea’s name up in bright lights.
He will live in infamy!

Talked to a Pittsburgh cop back when BB was younger. I mentioned he seems like a nice guy. The cop said, he had a few interactions with BB and he said he was very far from being a nice guy. Said he was a smug, self centered a-hole not nice to anyone. I am sure as he aged he mellowed out, plus he found religion and a wonderful wife, so what was once probably true, no longer is. Hopefully.
I interviewed Ben for several minutes during his rookie training camp. He was nothing but accommodating and cordial with me, an unknown reporter from a small newspaper on the other side of the state. He did not act like a smug, self-centered asshoIe whatsoever.

And maybe Porter Sr. could allocate his time more usefully by working with his son to teach him how to tackle better, rather than bringing up bullshit about Ben from 20 years ago.

I am not sure why. Tomlin is the coach that went with Harrison and not porter.

Tomlin either fired coach porter or didn't resign him not sure which

And he waited till Tomlin left before saying he wanted to come back and coach.
Maybe my memory is jacked on this.

I am a 70s kid. Grew up in awe of those teams. Met lambert, Green and Blount when I was 10.

It took me forever to admit that Ben is probably the best Steeler of all time.
We were blessed to have him for 18 years.

Maybe Ben shot him in Denver.

Remember, Peezy was in the locker room as a coach during the last half of Ben’s career. He’s seen behind the curtain. I’m not going to begrudge him

BullShit.

A bad teammate starts fights at the 50 yard line and gets himself kicked out of a key divison game prior to it even starting.

A bad teammate gets shot in Denver out all night clubbing.

A Bad teammate cheap shots punters and gets his team penalized.

And who the **** are these ex teammates coming out of the woodwork?

Mike Adams- Take another toke big guy.

Kendrick Green- On his *** again.

Patrick Queen??!!?- Never played with Ben and should hang out with Mike Adams and learn how to wrap a joint so that maybe he will start wrapping up on the field. Douchebag.
