The problem wasn't George Pickens, in spite of his immature behavior.

The problem isn't DK Metcalf.

Players are better when they play for other teams and other coaches.

The Steelers coaching staff cannot get the best from their players. They haven't in a long, long time. We have a sub-par offensive coordinator and a sub-sub-par defensive coordinator.

It will never change with Mediocre Mike at the helm so until they remove him, this is what the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise has become.

We are far closer to being the Cleveland Browns than we are a Super Bowl appearance.

Dk Metcalf is 100yds off his career average pace. 8 yards per game! He sucks, but nothing new. He is the same guy the Seahawks booted. He is giving Joey Porter JR a run for his most penalized title.
What a huge waste of money and a waste of QB.

You are right on Tomlin, Smith, and Austin
BUT
We have no idea how good GP would have been with Rodgers
No idea how good Rodgers would have been with GP

We do Know GP was better than DK even with Pickett, fields Wilson, Rudolph throwing the ball.
Pickens is an elite talent.
Elite talent shows no matter where they play.
Tomlin has coached some ELITE players who performed despite the coaching and scheme

Tomlin just ran out of talent
Nobody is elite, half the offense doesn't belong in the NFL
A WR2 and a trio of bums was never gonna work, no matter who is QB
Rodgers gets a pass just due to the lack of talent and playcalling plus the injury.

Kahn traded it away and didn't replace it ANYWHERE on the field.

The Browns are closer to a superbowl team personnel wise.

They have the best Pass rusher in the league
Judkins is the best Rookie RB. By a wide margin.
Fanin is a better rookie TE than we have on the roster. Guy started as the Te#2 and has 100 yards less than DK Metcalf on the season with much worse QB play.
These 2 guys have produced more in 9 games than every single draft pick on the Steelers over the past 5 seasons COMBINED.
They have one of the top Defenses in the league.
Our defense is the worst ranked Steeler defense since the 1980's (according to Deebo)

So what you are saying is wide receivers can make the QB look better than he is?

Now apply that to Big Ben and Antonio Brown and get Coryea chasing you with a pitchfork in his hand...lol.

The difference is Ben did it with multiple WR, not just Brown. Brown was just a freak

I think Limas Sweed was the only WR Ben couldn’t help.

It makes you wonder how a wide receiver who can't catch the football, makes it to the pro level.

Catching the football is your number one job requirement as a receiver.
He was able to catch the ball his first two seasons in college. Possibly the wrist injury that kept him out for nearly all his third and last year, and subsequent ligament surgery, affected his ability to clasp the ball and confidence.

To be fair, Ben did repeatedly hit Lameass right in the hands with the football.

Like over and over and over.

Yes SIR, Ben did everything but fell short on the “catch it for him” part,,,,,,,,,

I bet its safe to say you don't have a Donte Moncrief jersey :ROFLMAO:

I don't buy jerseys...lol The had 3 given to me. One was Greg Lloyd i gave to a kid, another was Hines Ward that I gave to my sister.

The last one I still have isn't a players number it's an away jersey with the No.6 and all of the Superbowl Championships with the logos on it.

I just don't wear them,so no point in buying them.

why is this thread even alive

Cuz Metcalf is a pale comparison to an explosive player Mike couldn’t handle, so again they took a subpar product to the field due to the owner loving a subpar coach that couldn’t deal with/handle the elite players on his squad.

I think it’s sort of a survivor’s grief sharing thread about how mediocre the owner allowed everything to become and we reminisce of the many ways Art and Mike were ******* the team for years.

well said!!

Just last season: 10x the cost for half the production, a suspension that cost the team, and next season brings the stupidity of the distraction of this nuisance lawsuit.

George>>>DK

Only the Steelers do not understand this.

I don’t wear that crap either. I think I was in my 40’s when I realized that it’s stupid to pay $80 for a jersey to wear in my house to watch a game like it makes some kind of difference.

A perfect QB-WR pairing. I know a lot probably wouldn't like it, but it'd be awesome for Ben and Brown to go into the HOF together.
I'm one of those who think it would be great if they went in together (even better if Hines Ward goes into the HOF with them:D) but I'm not sure if Brown is eligible next year, as Ben is. Brown played his last game in 2021 season, the same year as Ben, but it appears Brown didn't announce his retirement until a year after Ben, then unretired and re-retired twice, even though he was never signed to a team during his periods of "unretirement".

So does Brown's eligibility start when he played his last game, when he first officially announced his retirement, or at the time of his last retirement? The narrative around Rivers nomination when he came back suggests that ending retirement does not delay eligibility for the HOF until a former player is actually part of a game day roster, but does eligibility start the year a player plays his last game or when he is officially retired?

LOL, I don't have to say anything, Ben after elbow surgery turned Dionte into a 107 catch, 1100+yard, 8 TD WR, that should make him a 1st ballot HOF alone.

If you base it off what they could and did do on the field I think they both are first ballot worthy.

I’m pretty sure it starts upon the last filing of retirement.
