Mac Jones Trade

I wouldn't give up too much for the guy. Maybe a 6th.

Chambliss and Murray are not even close to similar size or style. Chambliss is more Jackson than any other comparison. He's also 3" taller, and that's no small difference. Add in Murray's contract and injury addiction and it makes the choice even easier.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, only two QB'S from this class, Mendoza who we have no shot at, and Chambliss... The others aren't worth the draft capital.
 
Neither is worth it. We need to use our 1st for a WR, in my opinion.

The Mac Jones trade is ridiculous, in my opinion. Shanahan was totally sold on drafting Jones in the the 2021 NFL draft, but was overruled for Trey Lance. So, when it came back that he had a chance to have Mac Jones on his team he took it. I don't think there is a chance he trades Mac Jones away.

No on Simpson before the third. He's not better then Howard. Bigger no on Murray. Terrible work ethic. Id be intersted in Trinidad. Id be interested in Willis if there is s solid out on the contract. Same with Mac Jones if there is a similar out and no more then a 3. I don't care if we know if Rodgers is playing. The team has to know before FA.

If I am Malik Willis' agent knowing that the QB draft class is weak and the FA QB offerings are weak, I would be asking top dollar. Willis' stock is decently high right now and I bet one team will pay. I hope its not the Steelers. Not sure the $$ he'll get but I would maybe say something like Justin Fields?? 2/40mil, 30 guaranteed. Just a guess. Not top starter money but a nice chunk for a 6 game starter in 4 years.

I would love Trinidad Chambliss on the steelers, but he's not my first round pick. More like 3rd. He's got the "it" factor, but it's still a work in progress. He just shows up on the biggest stages. They didn't lose because of him, they lost because they couldn't stop the run...

If Safety is the pick, there are a lot of good ones. Caleb Downs- OSU will be a top 5 pick. Thienamen- Oregon, Ramsey-USC, McNeil- Warren-Toledo, Haulcy-LSU, probable 2 round. Clark-TCU, Wheatley- Penn State, Moore- Indiana, 4 or 5 rounds. A couple of sleepers are Wisniewski-Texas Tech, and Fitzgerald-USC. I really like Haulcy. 6 ft-0 in 220, and hits like a truck.

We will have the scheme. If we get(or have)the accompying personnel to run a Shanahan type hybridized WCO.

Its really about the escapability. 30m is tge price of rice for a starter with upside. Aaron might play cheaper and better but literally no future there.
