Mock draft

now with all that said :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: The only year McCarthy brought QBs in on the top 30 pre-draft visits to Dallas (2023), 3 out of the 4 were 6'1". I think Clayton Tune was the outlier at 6'3". He's now in the USFL or whatever they call that league now. So hopefully, that trend doesn't continue here in Pitts.

I know Cooper Rush is under contract w/ Baltimore, but don't be surprised if he's brought in next year after Mason's contract is up or if he's released w/ the new staff in ratbird country. McCarthy seems to like his comfort food.

that's cool, what source do you use for these players/positions? I enjoy the automated draft sites as much as anyone, but they are terribly unreliable just so you know. Instead of actual football knowledge they are usually compiled by stupid football fantasy fans. So where do you fall?
Fans here just use the simulators to play the game. We have a lot of college football watchers on SN.

We know they are flawed but still fun to try to navigate and pick who we like.

For me I use everything I can possible find on the went. Game footage, statistics, etc.

Took a stab at my 1st mock. Dang! We have a ton of picks. In the last 2 rounds, I was just picking someone without doing any research. I was too darn tired.

Boston and Williams solidify the WR position, and hopefully for years to come, or until their inner diva takes over. I snagged a good CB, S, and DT in the first 5 rounds.

And, I got a good QB to add to the mix for competition with Howard. Yes, I still think Rodgers should be gone, and Howard should be the QB1 with Rudolph in QB2 or even QB3, depending on the competition between Howard and Chambliss.

I even snagged Singleton to go in our RB room. Dude has speed to burn and power. He may be our RB1 in a year or two.

I need to go take a nap. That took a lot out of me. :ROFLMAO:

21.
Denzel Boston
WR Washington

53.
Davison Igbinosun

99.
Trinidad Chambliss

I really like the top 3. Curious to see this first draft for MM. Like others have mentioned, MM drafts in the past have been linemen heavy which I LOVE. Hopefully that trend continues. All the WRs drafted for his Dallas years (5 WRs in total) were 6'1" or taller. WR Antonio Williams listed at 5'11". Does that trend continue? Was that MM's influence or Jerry? Who knows? If that's MMs preference, I guess CAIII will not be re-signed.

I have Boston as my fifth highest rated wide receiver.
I wouldn’t go higher than our 159th pick on Jackson.
Rolder would be the steal of the draft if he’s there at 237.

I'll preface this with the assumption ARod is back.

1st - Colton Hood CB Tenn. Tate, Tyson and Lemon are gone and I really like Denzel Boston's hands and size but I have to see his combine times first. He's definitely not a burner, but his 3 cone needs to be pretty good. They need some youth in the secondary and someone to play opposite JPJ. Hood is a smart player, 6' 195 and SEC tested.
Option - If they don't land a top WR in FA (say Alec Pierce) a trade up for a WR is definitely on the table, especially in front of the home crowd.

2nd - Chase Bisontis IOL Texas A&M. 6'5 315. Immediate plug and play at LG imo. His run blocking is ahead of his pass pro at this point but he's only 21 and has an aggressive mindset. Campen can definitely work with that.

3rd - Jacob Rodriguez LB Texas Tech. 6'1 230. Big time resume and stats. Only knock is his size but he's a baller. The ILB room needs an infusion of talent.

3rd - Mike Washington Jr RB Arkansas. 6'1 225. Just a perfect fit for what MM wants. Big, physical back who has some speed as well.

3rd - Domonique Orange DT Iowa State. 6'4 325. If they don't get a DT like Lee Hunter in an earlier round, Big Citrus is the pick here to help clog the middle. He can rotate with Yayha Black, come in on short yardage situations and give more snaps to Benton at DE.

4th - CJ Daniels WR Miami. 6'2 205. Another good fit for what MM looks for. Has played multiple spots and gives effort in the run game. I personally think he goes higher than the 4th but we'll see.

4th - Febechi Nwaiwu IOL Oklahoma. 6'4 326. Played 845 snaps at C, LG and RG with no QB sacks or hits. A versatile player that could hit big in the middle rounds.

5th - Bud Clark S TCU. 6'2 185. Free safety prospect with a knack for TOs. Smaller frame for run defense but could be a contributor on passing downs.

6th - Luke Altmyer QB Illinois. 6'1 205. Just seems like a good fit for the WCO to develop as a QB2.

7th - Raylen Wilson LB Georgia. 6'1 235. Very good speed and tackling, all you need to build those STs.

I'm sure some drooler like @bermudasteel will love this.

Proctor as 1st since he has the ability to also be a LT. He'll start at LG, replacing Seumalo. If Jones is back, I let him and Cook battle it for LT.

Cooper is a no-brainer in the 2nd.
Cooper is a fave of mine as well. He's a great rnd 2 target if they don't go for a WR in rnd 1.

The DL this draft seems very top heavy. Didn't find too many good prospects from rnd 3 and later, but its early yet. Keenan is a true NT though worth a look. Being on the shorter side (6'1-2") may cause some teams concern, but he'll definitely win the leverage battle. May even be available in the 5th.

Big? Lemon is 5'11", south of 200 lbs, and played slot 75% of the time at USC.
must of had his profile mixed up with Boston, Lemon kinda seems like a Waydle as D.Smith type WR

Dang, you nailed the 1st four picks.

The North Dakota QB may surprise many here.

Nothing wrong with this mock, I’d be happy if this was final.

Salute the nation

If we trade up in the 1st, I hope it's for this guy. I've seen multiple draftniks call him the best player in the draft. One said he's the best safety prospect.

Ever.

A guy like this would transform our defense.

Throw in Davison Igbinosun in the 2nd and our secondary is set for a long time.

Yes Caleb Downs is a beast. Probably go top 5, maybe even #2 to NYJ since they traded Sauce and were the only team to not have an INT all year. I know CB vs S but the DBs need a splash there. And HC Glenn being a former DB player/coach may seal the deal. He'd be a helluva pick though. You'd be giving up '27 draft capitol probably which they'll want to save for a QB. But damn, he'd look good in B&G

Too early but I'll play...

Used Supe's link.

1/20 - Makai Lemon, WR
2/51 - Trevor Goosby, OT
3/79 - Deontae Lawson, LB
3/84 - Ian Strong, WR
3/99 - Nicholas Singleton, RB
4/119 - Parker Brailsford, C/OG
4/133 - Diego Paiva, QB
5/160 - Ar'maj Reed-Adams, OG
6/213 - Trinidad Chambliss, QB
6/214 - Kalil Alexander, EDGE
7/219 - Shamar Easter, TE
7/235 - Demon Clowney, EDGE
I like Lemon as yhe top pick... Chambliss is suing the NCAA to allow him another year of eligibility... he may lose, but it looks like the real plan is to get an injunction and just delay the hearing until after the season, making it moot

I just saw Chambliss was granted another year of eligibility.

What's a good mock site to go pick on?

I'm far from an expert, but here goes. Can't understand why I am seeing so many of you all drafting TEs.

Sniper Mock With 12 picks, I doubt we use all of them standing pat, so I'm going to use some of that surplus to do some trades and kind of target certain players. I'm sure some will be traded for '27 draft picks in the real thing but for this, I'm just sticking with '26. Again, going with the assumption ARod is brought back.

1(17) - Trade up with Detroit who has no 3rd rounder. We give #21 and #99. Sonny Styles LB OSU 6'4 235. If the ILB slips to the middle of the first, they should pounce.

2(53) - Omar Cooper WR Indiana. 6' 200. Tough, physical WR with great hands. Probably my favorite WR this draft.

2(59) - Trade up with Houston who had an earlier 2nd rounder at #38. We give #76 and #214. Julian Neal CB Arkansas. 6'1 202. Outside CB to go opposite JPJ.

3(85) - Zakee Wheatley S PSU. 6'3 200. Elliott at SS with a young buck at FS.

4(108) - Trade up with Denver. We give #159 and #237. J.C. Davis OL Illinois. 6'5 320. LT capable with a possible move inside.

4(121) - C.J. Daniels WR Miami. 6'2 205. Need to double dip at WR and Daniels can play all 3 spots at WR. Great size too.

4(135) - Brandon Cleveland DT N.C. State. 6'4 325. Improved every year esp as a run defender his senior year.

6(213) - Luke Altmyer QB Illinois. 6'1 205. I just keep getting the feeling he is the pick here for MMs offense.

7(224) - Raylen Wilson LB Georgia 6'1 235. Go run and hit stuff.
