Thanks for the response. I would actually be interested in seeing how a D line of Heyward, Harmon, Black and Benton would perform.

It looks good on paper, but I believe the results would be mixed.
Against the run would be fine, but as far as pass pressure, I don’t think we would get the pressure needed to support the backend…
One thing we do have in our current defense is decent pass pressure, which really helps us, especially with the lack of high-end safeties.
I think our corners are getting to be pretty solid, I would just be concerned of intermediate crossing patterns and the deep middle in our secondary would be exposed …

DL won't be the issue, LB would be the issue with changing to the 4-3. Wilson, Watt, Herbig, and Highsmith would not be well suited in their new roles.

Its not as easy as just adding a 4th dl and taking away an ilb...

The characteristics of the positions are different... in a 4-3, TJ is a DE, not an OLB... so you wouldnt see the four guys you listed on the field at once...

Cleveland badly botched it.. they wanted a qb guru too, but this will cost them a beloved D coordinator and a glut of players will likely revolt..
