Coordinators Thread

If Deuce wants to avoid his team being continually humiliated by double-digit losses in their first-round playoff games then he'd better pony up.

Austin's contract was up and he wasn't going to be extended even if Shades stayed.
Not that it really matters, but are you sure about that?

I heard a rumour Rooney was going to make Austin into a 6 million dollar man .......stating ...We can rebuild him ...We have the technology....We can make him better than he was before. better .... stronger ....faster ....... smarter ? ...well let's not get carried away here

Well, the Browns are hurting for HC candidates....

The good news is Tomlin won't be in charge of the defense anymore, hopefully we get a good young DC, that will actually scheme to help the players and scheme to exploit the opponents weaknesses, instead of "we do what we do" and if it doesn't work its only because we didn't execute.

Joe Lombardi ............... well if we hire him before the Superbowl it guarantees a 7th Lombardi in the building before New England gets there
Though not young, this may be a good hire. He is a West Coast concept guy, though I do like the idea of someone like Lundy Wells coming in as an unknown commodity as a coordinator and becoming a branch off of the McCarthy tree (even though he has history).

Holy ****, get him in the building now! A couple good hot showers will wash the Browns stink off him in no time.

I'm not worried about OL coaching under McCarthy. He has a tendency to recruit solid coaching and his offensive lines do tend to be in the top 10.

We’ve just been investing in some talent
It would be great to see it developed

For Rodgers (please nooo) OR a young guy/rookie the OL actually realizing their potential will be pivotal in this team growing into something. It all starts in the trenches.

Schwartz is a 4 down lineman kind of guy Rooney’s will never consent to hiring him someone said Simmons out of commanders org was on his way to interview.

Swattz is a hell of a coach, but he is a guy who has historically been anti 3-4 and would not fit what Rooney is going for, since a total rebuild of the D would be needed
Might not be such a bad thing.

Which if you stat geeks know what the Eagles, Denver, Rams, Seattle and Houston?

Have to check that out might be interesting to compare..

Get first time cords, a 6th rd draft pick as the qb and we get a few losses under our belt this is quickly going look like a rebuild! Watching fat mike at the mic they gave him a 5 year contract I don’t think he’ll be alive in 5 years! Dudes a heart attack canidate if ever there was one!

Patrick Graham! Not a good hire!
Fourth team since 2019 season with only one season with a good defense.
If this is a sign of things to come under Big Mike, not looking good.

Not thrilled about Graham, but hard to say what their options were.

Schwarz wouldn't be cheap.

Looks like three coaches will be retained..

“Mike McCarthy expected to bring back three members of Mike Tomlin’s staff – linebackers coach Scott McCurley, who was on his staff in Dallas; QB coach Tom Arth and secondary coach Gerald Alexander, per sources”

Looking at the Raiders defense last year under Graham, they were pretty good in terms of yards per play.

Situationally, they were around league average in the red zone and bad on 3rd downs.

Probably an upgrade over Austin, but that is a pretty low bar.
