McDermott gone ... supposedly

McDermott parting message:

"I am proud and humbled to have worked alongside amazing staff and players as we shared life together and poured out our hearts and souls into both winning football games and making a positive impact in our community. This community graciously embraced not only me but my family and in some ways helped raise our children over the last 9 years. For that I say thank you to all of the teachers, coaches, and friends whom we met along the way…the City of Good Neighbors! We Love You! We will miss Buffalo.”

and

McDermott also praised the Bills fanbase, describing Bills Mafia as a “joy and inspiration” and writing that he had wanted to see his players compete with the “same level of toughness and grit that is true to Buffalo and that you demonstrate every day!”

Come on man. you can't honestly believe that?
Cook had 10 100yd games and a 200 yd game 12 td's and averaged 5.2 ypc
1912 scrimmage yds.
Derrick henry is old but he still ended up the #2 rusher behind cook.

Josh Allen is the best qb out of all the teams in need. By a country mile.
I said 'worn' tires. Not bald...

I would think having a MVP QB like Josh or Lamar would be rather attractive compared to Mason Rudolph and a 6th rounder that’s never played a snap in the NFL,wouldn’t you ? It could be years before we have an MVP caliber QB. Steelers are also the oldest team in the League.
Then again there's some major expectations coming with those jobs. The Steelers new coach will probably have a mandate to rebuild coaching and playing staff. Buffalo and Baltimore are resepectively one and two years removed from AFC Championship appearances, meaning expectations will be to go to a Super Bowl sooner, rather than later.

At one time Miami had a pretty good season. Are they not considered a solid organization anymore?

I don’t glue into them so I really have no strong opinion on the franchise..
Miami has the longest playoff win drought in the NFL. Their last playoff win was in 2000. Even the Jets, Raiders, Panthers and Steelers have more recent playoff wins than Miami.

The bills had the cajones to part ways after failed expectations.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but the Steelers held on way too long
It became clear to a lot of us a while ago that Shades had peaked.
If he could build his own championship team he would have done it by now,

Hell yes they did. McDermott won 8 playoff games in 9 seasons, and their losses were very competitive games, that's as many as Tomlin in 19 seasons. The Bills moved on from that guy, yet we sat around watching Tomlin play turtle ball all season to scratch to that .500 record and then get totally embarrassed in the playoffs for a damn decade.

There isn't a coach who is going to shy away from those expectations and if they do, Buffalo and Baltimore will want no part of them.

You beat me to it, these guys want that challenge, they want to win, they aren't going to shy away from a franchise QB because there are expectations.

Please tell me we're not gonna wind up with Flores or McCarthy when the dust settles after all these years of Purgatory with Shades.
If they don’t hire Shula we’re gonna wind up with Flores or McCarthy.

The full selection of Kubiaks is still available.

It does feel like the Steelers are ok with picking near the end though.

Like I said, with the Bills job opening up, Shula’s price tag just got higher and I don’t see Deuce winning a bidding war.
Only one Kubiak is on the Steelers’ list.

it's like Matt Canada's fake jet sweep.

what could go wrong?

Me thinks Buffalo needs to hire Tomlin
I told my old boss (Bill's fan) that I finally got my Christmas wish after about 12 years waiting ..... when Tomlin left ... (William)

After Bills fired (Mary) ..... I told him I would send him William ...... but knowing how much playoff disappointment the Bill's fans have suffered over the years it would be cruel

He said NO Thanks ...... my dream of getting rid of him better not become the Bills new reality

I just read on the socials that Mike Mcarthy turned down all other invites for interviews as he is focused on the Steelers. Either he's Stupid, don't need a job, or very confident he's getting the Steeler's job.

Maybe the Steelers like and have been talking with him for a while, and want him to be an advisor/mentor or even OC with a young gun HC.

He could still fit with Shula/Steelerchasse additions.
