I have a quote from a response by the rog regarding appeal and the union.

Because protecting the integrity of the game is the Commissioner's most important responsibility, I decline to rewrite our Collective Bargaining Agreement to abrogate my authority and "discretion" to hear "any appeal" in a conduct detrimental proceeding.

The motion for recusal is denied. We will proceed with the hearing on June 23, as previously scheduled.

Link to the entire thing below.

This may have been discussed but if you have not read the letter it is interesting.

We as a whole can't stand the SOB. In this deflategate case, I want him to be my BEST friend................

Salute the nation

i think this is funny as hell...

So 30 of the 31 teams voted for that POS contract and now the players are up in arms about Goodell having "all the power"... well, y'all voted for it! He doesn't have to recuse himself because YOU GAVE HIM THE POWER TO DO SO. The ONLY players who have the right to complain are those in Black and Gold.

When the owners get tired of all the money he is making them.

So sick of this ridculous line. The NFL sells itself, i can ASSURE you there is an abundance of executives in this country, whom have the resume to be qualified for Commissioner of the NFL, and I can promise you that without a doubt, owners will still make their cash hand over fist like they have been for decades now if/when they move on from Rog. The owners cant possibly believe that the Rog is uniquely qualified to head the league, to the point that they wouldnt even bother to entertain the notion of bringing in a new commissioner.

He was Rooney's hand picked guy.

perhaps Rooney is thinking if I would have known then what I know now.......................................

I will have to disagree a bit with the nfl selling itself. There are some markets where the nfl has a very strong presence and really needs no help to have everyone watching the game. The fanbase is solid for some teams like Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, for example and is likely to stay that way. But there are other places that have not had much in the way of fans till lately new england for example and football in general has been helped with viewership or interest by the fantasy crap. So there are things that have been done to help the game in some respects as to total views but there are those of us that are for lack of a better term purists who feel the changes that have been wrought have diminished the game.
