This year seems to be a unique year. Lots of guys added to the team that seem to have potential. We might and that is a big might have one of those years that adds a new core to the team. Our first pick of Dupree looks like a kid that will develop rather quickly and has all the physical tools to be great. He was available and from the pre draft talk everyone thought he would be long gone. Goulson was a selection after a run on corner backs and has many folks torn as to being good or too small but if he pans out and continues to find the ball will be a steal. Coates looks like Bryant 2.0 at this point if that is what he does this will be a great addition. James looks like a great addition as well bringing lots of good traits to the game and seems like a good fit as well.

There are more guys in the draft that look like they can be more than just role players on the team. But what about the undrafted guys there were some offensive linemen picked up that seemed to be over looked by everyone. Foster who is our present starter at one of the guard slots was not a high draft pick but got there by hard work. There is a huge guy named Villanova that they found as a free agent, another guy named Clear who might turn out to be something special at tight end, and the guys from the practice squad last year who may now be ready to step onto an NFL roster.

Then we have the guy from the Canadian league who was a very good defensive player for them.

One thing that is surprising to me is the level of potential these guys bring to the team. This seems to be an unusual year for talent additions for a couple of reasons. One we need lots of talent at lots of places. Two nearly every guy on the teams roster at this point has someone that was impressed with him from the fan base or the local media guys talking about him in a positive manner. I do not recall so many guys being praised on here in the past. Normally there are between 4 to 8 guys talked about as good players or potential good players and the rest get labeled camp bodies or busts etc. This year seems to be different. I just wonder if we might be witnessing something special. It could happen, it might not, but this looks like we just might be seeing a new core to the team forming.:wink::triumphant:

Who is this Ghoulson cat he sounds like he would be good around Halloween, given opposing teams a scare.

:cheerful:

I see some comparing Coates to Bryant, but I think Coates is a more physical WR, and athletic maybe a Boldin reference might fit better.

I am on the fence on Jesse James as that TE class overall was soso. He might be nothing more than a Spaeth, but he never had a Big Ben throwing to him so we will see.

I am thinking one of those two centers (undrafted) might make it. And I am holding out some hope that this is Landry's last year on the roster.

Foster was udfa signing and he played rt in college and was converted to rg then flipped to lg after we got DECAStro.

I see Coats as a better version of wallace in terms of potential to be a complete wr

I could see eithier finney or dismukus replace foster for the long run, both more athlethic and better suited for the zone

wouldn't that require a position change from center to guard?

Guard is generally the easier of the two positions to play so not a big change. I think their maybe several gems in the rough this year we sure are due for some.
