This was certainly a ballsy move and seemed to escalate extremely quickly. I have no issue getting drugs of the streets. I just don't understand why out of blue we decided to start bombing their boats and how it escalated to capturing the president.

Russians and Iranians are setting base on a country at about 4hrs distance in a commercial airplane from the US and you think this is out of the blue ?

He has had indictments against him for some time. It just took a leader willing to do something about it.

I'm actually at one of the main cities where the aerial force is located so I'm quite surprised nothing happened here.

My parents were here for the new year and had just driven back to Caracas yesterday, fortunately what happened was a very tactical strike and no damage to civilian residences seem to occur.

It's incredible how they could do it. Movie stuff like. I was hoping for this kind of attack but as a stupid dream that might be impossible to happen, you know, without blood spill and or civil war involved (yet). We got to wait and see because some who still are pretty much in charge are more evil than the one you got arrested

Will Trump still plink boats -- and why not cargo planes -- running Colombian and Ecuadorian drugs into the US? He didn't take actions in his first term, so thus far it seems like the drugs was the rationale for regime change; guess we will find out cocaine distribution will now seeking new pathways.

Except that Venezuela was already sanctioned by international courts for nationalizing foreign-owned oil companies and other businesses so it is perfectly legal to give those businesses back and capture oil tankers.

Are you referring to the nationalizing of the oil companies in 1976 while Jimmy Earle was fuucking up Iran, or to the early 2000's when Chavez made deals with US oil companies or 2007 when Chavez kicked them out again?

For the record, new leadership with a better free market orientation has been needed for at least two generations in Venezuela. Let's see whether this new era heralds benefit for the Venezulean people or is the start of American colonization of South America. Will the US take Cuba in the next 12 months?

I am waiting for the media to report of the widespread civilian casualties and the schools and orphanages that were bombed.
 
A news report claimed that Houston has the 2nd largest Venezuelan population in the u.s. They didn't say who was #1. Bad reporting.

A surgical, precision move. Others can't do that.

Venezuela used to be the wealthiest country in South America. The last few years people have been slaughtering zoo animals to eat.
Again, I'll defer to Litos on this but I don't see how it's a bad thing thing for the citizens of Venezuela. It's only bad for Democrats.
