But lets look at the precedent that was set with Lamar Jackson week 1 in Buffalo. Fan pushes Lamar, and Lamar retaliates by shoving the fan with both hands, knocking the fan back into his seat. No fine, no suspension. Then we look at DK, fan clearly says something way more than calling him by his full name (which by the way, is his instagram name, so that didn't set him off like the fan is claiming), DK grabs the fans shirt and shoves him back. DK gets a two game suspension.
The claim that this is two different scenarios is only on the surface. Based on what the league released, "players may not enter the stands or otherwise confront fans at any time on game day and ... if a player makes unnecessary physical contact with a fan in any way that constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct or presents crowd-control issues and/or risk of injury, he will be held accountable."...both DK and Lamar are equally at fault and should share the same punishment. Both were clearly wrong, as were the fans in both cases. But to have two VASTLY different punishments is just ridiculous...
Roger Goddell is a two faced ignorant bum. He has the authority to make this right. I bet he doesn't do anything though...
Im not saying that. I'm saying Metcalf assaulted him in front of millions of people for no ****** reason and even if the guy said some real ****. You can see there isn't another player there. He could be 25 yards from the loser. He made a choice. Hurt his team very badly. Deserves the consequences.

Before that they lost by 28 to the Bears, lost to the Titans, and lost by 18 to the 49ers. They're 3-12. No Tomlin special this week.

I can only imagine how this follows him now. I can imagine Eagles fans yelling his name with every conceivable description attached to it next time Steelers play there. Fans around the league will be screaming **** at him and the bench or from the tunnel nonstop. And yes many fans are A-Holes. That’s certainly not a surprise.
I'm going to tell a personal anecdote to illustrate the point. Took my family to KC to see Steelers. Landry Jones in for Ben unfortunately. They are going back into the tunnel after warmup. Our boys are like 13 and 10. Only guy to reach up and high five was Shazier. I told my son's these guys are at work. They are zoning up. Just be happy one MADE THE CHOICE to do something nice. DK was at work yesterday. He made a ****** choice.

It’s interesting that the ticket holder has lawyered up, practically ran to the Detroit Free Press before the game was over to tell his “story”. DK was on Chad Johnson’s and told his. Same with Deebo conversation. Some DET fans say the ticket holder and DK has history going back to 2022 as SEA has played at Ford Field each year since then and now PIT this year. He has taunted DK apparently each game and reported it. Name calling isn’t illegal, but public decorum is required as stated on the back of each ticket. Poor decision by DK regardless, but if the taunting was habitual maybe the league should step in. Just amazes me, how the League always inconsistently handles things. Be damn sure if the division is to be determined week 18, that the game will be flexed to SNF on NBC for the ratings.

Lamar and the other Ravens weren't innocent either. They just scored what seemed to be the game winning TD and multiple players walked through the endzone, right up to the stands to taunt Buffalo fans,. Sounds like otherwise confronting fans and it absolutely cause a crowd control issue even more than what DK did. What DK did was specific to 1 fan. The Ravens taunted and incited the crowd. Then Lamar responded with more force than DK did.
If Lamar got suspended, I'd be fine with DK getting the same, but Lamar got nothing at all. It's impossible to justify zero penalty for Lamar and 2 games (and game checks) for DK.

I also noticed that he was already speaking through a lawyer pretty soon after the game. Not only that, but look at how the Detroit fan responded immediately after DK released him. Arms raised up in a triumphal gesture and making celebratory grunts. He was clearly looking to provoke a reaction and he got it. Not that DK should have reacted - fans are always trying to put opposition players off their game..

I can't believe people are defending DK here. You are in the middle of the game that has huge postseason implications and you decide to go out of your way to yank / shove / punch a fan in the stands. If the guy was being that rude get security involved. He potentially sacrificed the teams season to just get in a cheap shot

I don't see anybody defending DK. He was wrong. Just pointing out that he did not PUNCH a fan, this fan has history with DK, he clearly said something besides his given name that made DK freak out, and that the NFL had no problem with Lamar shoving a fan in Buffalo.
I'd be fine with the steelers benching DK themselves, but the NFL is doing their usual random justice where punishment is inconsistent.
BTW, nothing says somebody is totally innocent like immediately lawyering up.

It doesn't really matter what the guy said DK should have been no where near him. Lamar was shoved by the fan and reacted. Him and some teammates were celebrating and the guy whacked hopkins in the helmet then shoves Lamar who shoved him back. If DK scored a TD, went over to celebrate, got hit, and then grabbed the fan i could see it, but that was not the case. You can technically say DK didn't punch the guy, but if his first made contact with the guys face it would have done damage. Only DK knows what his intent was there. I think the suspension will get reduced to 1 game, but if not he really has no one to blame but himself

It's not about defending him either - is about keeping the punishment the same for like offenses.
DK had no reason to be over there, none. Doesn't matter what the fan was saying, yeah the fan was an idiot and trying to get under his skin and it worked, that happens at every single game, fans screaming ****** things at opposing players and coaches.
