Initial Thoughts on dolphin Game

I don’t think just because you want Tomlin replaced you’re a hater.
None of us know the man to form a hatred for him.
The fact that he’s been there nineteen seasons now and hasn’t been to a SB in fifteen seasons or won a single playoff game going on nine seasons has made most fans very skeptical.
Most fans have lost confidence in this coach and don’t expect much each season.
The guy is stubborn and doesn’t appear to want to change. He hires lackeys that are nothing more than yes men.
Most fans want a fresh start and goofy Rooney missed a perfect opportunity last year when the Bears came calling.

While there may be some that actually do hate the guy, to say “haters” is just busting balls at Tomlin critics.
I’m sure Berm means it in that way.

Initial thoughts...

"Where are the haters???"

Not a Tomlin fan so I guess I qualify as a "hater" but to be fair, I am actually known by the ladies as a lover. Okay, by one lady. Missed the game. Spent the weekend with the grandsons, incredibly busy, got up at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, then at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, drove grandkids back to their home in Gainesville on Sunday, drove back to our place yesterday, spent the day working outside in 25° temperature, caught up on some paid-for work, and fell asleep in chair in living room at about 8:00. Just went to bed as too tired to watch a game that runs way past my bedtime.

Love the win; now do the same thing in January.

I guess their 5 game winning streak is meaningless, eh???

There are no juggernaut teams in the AFC. Fact.

I'm riding the euphoria today - yinz can pout, if you like, but the team won.

The Phins were riding a 4-game win streak...impressive win in Buffalo, then OT to beat Wash, 4-pt win over NO, blew out the Jets.

I'm happy with the way they looked last night, but the next two games will be tougher. Cleveland has been a house of horrors for the Steelers lately.

Miami quit, flat out quit, why the hell were they not going no huddle hurry up? Tua sucks, zero game awareness.
Pittsburgh winters, with the wind coming off the rivers is brutal for us Pennsylvanians let alone a group of men acclimated to 80 degree days in Miami. Once the Score hit double digits they just wanted to get the **** out of there.

Their HC should be fired for that alone, that's embarrassing.

I agree. I'm just a bit further down the "fire him" road than most. He could win the SB this year and I still want him gone. Sorry. It's where I'm honestly at.

Me too, lightning in a bottle only happens once in a great while. Tomlin’s current 10yr worth of mediocrity will enforce what I’m saying.

I want complete change on the coaching side of things. Wield (sp) keep, Kahn 50/50 (but realize out of the tomlin control may be keepable).

Salute the nation

Steelers were helped greatly by the weather, but…..
The last two weeks the offense has been more aggressive. I don’t think it’s anymore complicated than that.

This gives rise to my suspicion that Aaron is calling plays ala Ben. I'm happier if he is than anything coming off the coaching staff idea board.

They turtled late in the Baltimore game still, out gained 200-9 or something like that, and with a chance to clinch the game on 3rd and 7, we throw the ball 3 yards.
I'm not putting a ton of stock into us throwing for 220 yards on Miami.

On our "Tush Push" with CH, what is the point of Rodgers standing behind the play with his hands in his waist warmer? Makes not sense. Put a RB back there or someone that could be considered a threat. Good grief.
Yeah, I agree. We were talking about that last night on the text thread with my buddies.
My thought is just split him wide at least that moves one guy out of the mix.

Or just put Ramsey there, someone who can tackle in case of a fumbled snap or something.

I found this site interesting.
Take from it what you will.
It was interesting to me on how Tomlin compares with the other current NFL coaches that are highly ranked by overall wins..
Lots of different categories and statistics that you could sort by extensively

We did a good job stopping the run, but i don't think Miami ran enough. Achane was a averaging 5ypc on 12 carries. I would have just rolled with him

Next day game he will still be there, with aviators on to boot

Exactly. Throwing balls over the middle yesterday. That's not normal.

Tomlin has kind of been just "padding his stats" since the last 12+ win team he had in 2017.

He does keep "winning" in a literal sense, but the Steelers have had a pretty clear ceiling on what they can accomplish with Tomlin as coach for about 15 years now.

That's honestly way too long a time to realistically expect anything different anymore.
