Under Tomlin, the Steelers have never had consistently good OL play without Mike Munchak, or secondary play once the best DBs he inherited from Cowher retired.
To me, that says a lot about Tomlin, especially considering he established himself in the league as a DBs coach.
However, Tomlin obviously does some things well to have never had a losing season, as much as we grow tired of hearing about it.
I just think we've maxed out in terms of what Tomlin can bring. 8-10 wins and an *** waxing in the wildcard round have become the well-established floor and ceiling.
On top of it, Tomlin looks like he is becoming increasingly out of touch with today's NFL. Not just with the middle of the field phobia he has developed on offense, but with how frequently opposing QBs are able to hit their first reads against the Steelers defense.
The Steelers pass coverage schemes have been questionable for years now, but they seem more exposed than ever this season.
