Initial Thoughts bears Game

Initial thoughts - our FO and HC suck *** for not getting a real WR#2.

They'd still be throwing short little passes or that sideline crap. Don't kid yourself. There's just no timing to any of it.

I don't think Metcalf is a WR #1 either. Not now anyway.
He has a wow factor of zero, doesn't catch contested balls and goes down rather easily for a dude his size.

Another thing on bashing the horrible coaching on both sides of the ball but not only did they refuse to target the TE's until late in the game but it seemed Tomlin was living in his fears even more by not allowing throws over the middle. I may be wrong but it sure didn't seem like they tried to throw over the middle at all in the 1st half. 2 jump balls they had were on the sideline where their CB made a heck of a catch for the INT. The other Roman knocked out.

Anyone blaming Mason is just looking for an excuse. They have a small ball offense he went where the play took him. He got picked off with a great interception. They singled a TE vs. Their best pass rushers.
He was part of the problem as he just isn’t good enough. But not the main problem. That would go to the pretender of a HC.

**** Mason Rudolph had 1 completion over 10 yards the entire game! Cmon man! Mason is nothing special! Time to move Will Howard up the depth chart!
I called for Howard early. They will refuse to give him meaningful reps and the team won’t know what they have in him.

Same **** new year! Nothing changes but the players.
Horribly ineffective, unimaginative, boring, predictable offense.
Bears had all their starting LBers out yet Tomlin couldn’t exploit it.
Metcalf is a very high end number two very low end number one.
Essentially you have a low end number one followed by a bunch of just guys.
Muth should be the number two WR with Washington and Smith as your TEs.
Arthur Smith and Tomlin are both a joke.
The defense is soft and cannot cover the middle.
Should have been putting pressure on Bear’s QB all day with blitzes.
I predicted a three game slide, so there’s number one.

1st time this season the Bears beat a winning team if I remember correctly.Purely pathetic. You can’t beat a team with what 4 5 linebackers out?😂 what a joke.

Not when you have a QB who can't throw a pass over 10 yards! Of course it's not all his fault when you go 4 wide with only 1 WR out there & 3 TE's.

Happy I cooked and shared with family after the 2nd quarter instead of investing more time on this clown show
Mason Rudolph should never play another game for the Steelers at QB! HE SUCKS!

Warren & Gainwell ran great today!

Darnell Washington needs more than 2 targets. Jonnu Smith got 3 targets!

Why do we not throw over the middle of the field? I thought that was all Matt Canada.....I guess not.....OBVIOUSLY!

Rooney Jr needs to BLOW UP THE ENTIRE COACHING STAFF.....Tomlin too!

Roman Wilson can create separation....similar to Hines Ward. Too bad we don't have a QB who can get him the football!

Corliss Waitman....WTF bro? 34, 40 & 33 yd punts today! GTFOH if you can't kick you don't belong on this team!

Congratulations to TJ Watt on passing his brother JJ Watt in sacks! I just wish we had a few more Defensive guys who played as hard as TJ Watt!

The officials blew that whistle on the Tush Push early.....changed the whole momentum of the game.....Steelers had a first down there! **** THE ZEBRAS!

The NFL is RIGGED! Just like all sports.....$$$$$ Mafia controls it all!
Agree. This team almost won despite having the refs and their own coaching staff against them

I recommend that you all just go back to a thread a few weeks ago, or years ago, etc., cut and paste the conversation there, and put it in this thread.

It's way past time for a coaching change.
Fans just need to stop buying the product. Don't buy that jersey. Don't buy that shirt. Don't buy that hat. Don't buy that mug. And most importantly don't buy that ticket. That's the best way to force a change. It's a business and as long as the company is making money and continues to turn a profit there's no need for change; everything is working as planned.

Rooney is free agency away from being Bob Nutting.

I blame Mason, not an excuse as I am no defender of Tomlin. Mason refuses to take any kind of risk. It's pathetic.
Remember when Rodgers was playing(up until the O-line **** the bed the last few games) he was throwing across the middle, up the seam, deep.

It's the QB dude.
That’s why Mason is a backup. Expecting a career backup to come in and perform at a level near the starter is wishful thinking. The NFL doesn’t have a quality starter on every team, but in Pittsburgh we expect our backup to be as good or better than the starter. And some fans want to bring in a rookie that’s had like three whole practices “to see what we got.” Nothing but unrealistic expectations.

He's not the reason, but he's certainly not the solution. No pocket awareness, throwing flat footed, his deep ball is no longer his best throw, it's his worst. All short and inaccurate.

I’m still holding to my 8-9 record I made this past summer.
This is just not a good team!
Best I could see is a split with the remaining schedule putting them at 9-8 which I don’t think makes the playoffs.
They need to blow this up after the season!

You eventually have to see what that rookie has. Perhaps that is a realistic expectation knowing the team under Tomlin will fall short so at least go into the draft knowing what you have in reserve. Let us also not pretend some backups don’t have games like starters. 49ers and Texans both had solid games from their backups.

Not going to make excuses for Mason that performance wasn’t good enough it just wasn’t. He was what tied with TDs and INTs last season for a reason. He tried to force balls that he had no business forcing, his vision was sub par and he is like a statue most of the time.

If you are going to play a deficient QB at least be willing to try another one when it isn’t working.

I was thinking the exact opposite at the beginning of the game thinking Mason was the right coaching decision to start. I dont want anybody endorsing Mason on here anymore. He is what he is which is not very good.

If you removed your tongue from Mike Tomlin's ball sack you might be able to see that this team has sucked for 10 years even with two HOF QB's - Roethlisberger and Rodgers - and the only constant through that miserable stinkage has been your testicle-pop.

Sure, but as fans we’ve seen Rudolph for how many years? And some fans expect something different than what he’s shown us for years. Somehow, folks think he’ll suddenly be something different.

As far as Howard, he’s not ready. You put him in now, with this rotten *** offense, and you’ll never know what you have.

Possibly it is possible he shows promise just as well. Like you said we know what we have in Rudolph we can’t say the same for Will.
