Ja'Marr Chase "I didn't spit on nobody"

I just looked it up. Apparently it’s not automatic. 👍 It’s up to league discretion, which is always a crap shoot. The [obvious] spitting SHOULD be considered extenuating circumstances.
Id also say he was ejected because it was the second incident and the first was ridiculous. They were **** talking after Chase tried to crack him and Chase grabbed his face mask endlessly.

I dont think that would be on the table. Unless it's automatic on an ejection which I never remember. The first of the two was ridiculous. In the end he was going to be ejected for throwing a punch. Its just that Chase should have been gone too.
The punch never gets thrown off the spitting doesn't occur...

If he isn’t available for the Steelers against Chicago it is nothing short of sheer bullsh!t. No way, shape or form should a retaliation (in this instance) be punished with a suspension.

Sorry it doesn't work that way. I don't think he will be suspended, though it would be hard to believe he doesn't have a previous record in discipline. I think the fact that the refs were ****** abd late to the problem and missed the spit.....he has a chance. Hus own coach said he doesn't care what led to his ejection.

I'm not contesting the ejection. What I'm saying is the punch does not get thrown if the spitting doesn't occur...

Jalen will get a fine and a suspension for unsportsmanlike actions that tarnished the shield. luckily this happened stateside. Had it happened in Europe, where Rog would have witnessed it, Jalen would have been left across the pond per NFL directives.

Jamar will get a scolding letter, with the stamp paid for by the resulting fine of Jalen.

and @bermudasteel will also get fined. because, why not?

Just found the same proof...

I guess firing the HC for his ejecting won't be a topic of discussion this week???

How do the Steelers get reimbursed for this transgression???

they won’t, our owner is to big a ***** to do anything about it.

Jaylen Ramse will NOT get suspended.

The real question is

1) Does Chase even get fined

2) Does Chase get a 1-game suspension

I think It should be yes to both, for Chase.

No fair! That’s what I was gonna say!!!

Well, something like that.

Ramsey was punished for making everyone aware he was spat on. No punch and the spitting never happened.

There have been a bunch of high profile spitting incidents in the NFL. The one earlier this year with Jalen Carter and Dak Prescott led to Carter being ejected before the game was played... which the league viewed as a one game suspention

Chase should therefore get a one game suspension.

In theory, Ramsey should get nothing. Throwing a punch can lead to a 1 game suspension, but he was ejected midgame, and suspending him further would sst a poor precedent for future such incidents.

There is the danger that Rodger will suspend both to try to discourage retailation

This should absolutely be argued against because it is clear that Chase baited him into the altercation because the Bengals passing game was struggling to beat him deep, and they were trailing.
His ejection gave them a competitive advantage in that game.. that cannot be undone.
However, a further suspension would harm the Steelers, and Steelers losing to Chicago benefits the Bengals... so you need to make sure players know there is no advantage to be had to creating incidents like this.

The thing that sucks is the Steelers would gain advantages by Chase playing and the Bengals winning vs the Pats and Ravens... so any suspension for him hurts us too

Idk but I just think Ramsey gets the one game suspension and that will really hurt not having him in Chicago.
I hope I’m wrong but y’all know how the league works. All they see is Ramsey throwing the shot to Chase’s face.

I think its hilarious that the Bengalsnation facebook account posted a thing trying to push Chase's denial with cleaned up grammar, abd tge Steelernation account simply replied with "liar"

🤣
The thing is, I don't know if they were calling Chase tge liar for saying he didnt spit, or the site itself for posting a quote with no double negative in it to make him look better....

In the moment I expected Ramsey to be smarter than that. That was before I knew that ***** spit on him. Now I wish he would have grabbed him by the facemask and dragged him around the field. Suspension or no suspension, nobody would just let someone spit on them and do nothing.

Odd the replay booth did not call down to officials, you know want to get everything correct.

The shield ****-s on the Steelers, so they figured spit was no big deal………

Agreed. Im thinking hes going to get max fine and Chase gets one game. Their team is ****** anyhow. They are done done. I wouldn't even bring Burrow back. Let it heal for real. Their defense sucks balls.
