WTF was/is the point?

Of the 8 remaining games, only 3 of them are realistically winable.
And two of those are division opponents, AND Mike loves playing to his competition's level.
I just don't see the path to the winning record this year.
If nothing else, hopefully that ends the possibility of beating Landry's record and silences them all.

If Mike truly plays to his opponent’s level as you assert then the logical conclusion is all 8 remaining games are both winnable and able to be lost at the same time as he will be matching his opponent’s level.

That would likely yield 4-4 and total to 9-8 so the math checks out…Tomlinship here we come!!!
🏆

He should beat the Dolphins
Win at least 1-2 division games
A 5 TO game will fall in their laps again

All will be good as the standard will have been met and Rooney will hand Mike a 2-3 year extension to reward his efforts

Happy GHD

Duly noted.

Heh...you can see what's coming. They are so far behind in every game in TOP that they are gonna force the run to try and hold the ball. They almost have to, to give this defense a break. Cincy's defense sucks, and that may be a fine plan. But the Steelers will hold the ball, kick more field goals than score tds, and Cincy will score tds quickly with Chase and Higgens and the rest and it will be as tight as Dick's hatband at the end. Sounds like a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I will probably chase pheasants.

Only way I’m watching this upcoming **** show is afterwards… if they are somehow victorious (maybe Mike And squad somehow find a way to extract their head from their collective a$$e$)

No way I’m dedicating 3-4 hours of a Sunday afternoon to this impending **** show

Has Chase scored 2 TDs yet?

Yep, the only thing that has saved the offense is 6 turnovers vs NE and 5 vs Indy. Maybe playing the worst defense in the NFL (Cincy) this week will help.

Funny but Cincy is thinking the same thing about facing the Steelers pathetic D
Maybe facing the Steelers will keep fueling their pathetic run game…if they’re not too busy hitting Chase and Higgins wide open all over the field

Burrow has started to practice in a limited role I think, but Cincy beats us they are suddenly one game back in the division with the tiebreaker over us, this is a huge game for them.

This is where I am at, I grew up watching Steeler Games, I can count on 1 hand how many games that I have missed.

Before DirecTV I used to drive to other TV markets to watch the game, I 've watched games in roadside rest areas, out of town bowling alleys. We formed Steeler Fan Clubs and convinced local bars with big ear satellites to show the game in return for our Sunday patronage.

That's all gone now. I still have a passion for football, but the Steelers Tradition is ruined. Art2 ruined it. He is your typical 3rd generation owner who has been handed a successful enterprise that he has driven into the ground and squandered.

There were early warning signs, he oversaw the building of Heinz Field and flubbed it. Despite a decade long waiting list for season tickets you would think that they would significantly increase capacity, did he? Of course not, you could not brag about your waiting list if you did that. Just after a few years of being open, what did they do, started adding seats. Which they have done multiple times since. There is an old adage, do it right the first time which is usually followed by a gentle smack to the head. Art2 apparently never got smacked. Stadiums that were built next, in Seattle and Houston were much better.

Backed by a new stadium and luxury suite revenue Art2 proudly proclaimed the days of Steeler stars being poached and going elsewhere were over. So, he resigned Chad Scott and Dwayne Washington and personally intervened at the last minute to keep a sure-fire future Hall of Famer in Pittsburgh, who was that future Hall of Famer, Jason Gildon. Instead of the HOF we got the Gildong Report.

Where he really blew it is when he ran off a successful Head Coach, local reporter Ed Bouchette said it did not have to end this way. It did. Art2 would make snide veiled shots at Cowher for not winning the big one and then refused to extend his contract as they had done in the past and despite his accomplishments. Even after winning the Super Bowl, ART2 refused to extend him so he left. Cowher worked for good ownership, and he knows a bad owner when he sees one. The teams that Cowher built the foundation for would play in 3 Super Bowls in 5 years.

Art2 came in saying we need to WIN the Super Bowl and inherited a coach that did it. He leaves with his coach who mumbles about the standard which he has lowered and with the hopes that if we sign a couple of FA, that we can win a wildcard playoff game and draft a QB later.

We used to Dominate the Central/North and play in Championship games with ****** QB's.

The chants of SELL THE TEAM that we hear at PNC Park, need to start in Acrisure Stadium.

Remaining Schedule:

Bungles
@Bears
Bills
@Rats
Dolphins - Monday Night
@Lions
@Clowns
Rats

4 home, 4 away

Tomlin Coaching Record
vs Bungles - 25-11
vs Bears - 6-0
vs Bills - 7-2
vs Rats - 11-13
vs Dolphins - 13-1
vs Lions - 6-0
vs Stains - 25-6

so, statistically we have a shot at 6-2
realistically, we may hope to beat:
Bungles, Dolphins and Clowns

3-5 down the stretch to finish 8-9. first losing season ever. unless the Rats sit their starters in Week 17. then, still a toss-up.

this thread reminds me of a Pearl Jam song, Indifference

how much difference does it make? (as long the status quo remains?)

but scoring more. most games.
Averaging 2ppg more, as long as the defense gets them 5 or 6 more possessions a game. DK is the 4th highest paid WR in the NFL, I mean that's like making Minkah the highest paid safety in the NFL, then telling him to play centerfield.

Then trading him.

Always interesting when I hear DK mentioned. They show a ton of Seattle games here as they are the closest NFL team.
DK is doing everything here that he did in Seattle pretty well every year. He drops many balls. His lack of concentration is evident. He would have a totally WTF penalty moment all the time. Don’t forget……he played beside the totally underrated Tyler Lockett for all those years. DK had Flip out after Flip out moments on the sidelines throughout his career.
Fans that have higher expectations from him have just seen some highlights on NFL Network. They haven’t actually watched him play the game after game. People always expect so much more from him because of his physic. What you see here is what you get.
This being said….DK is not a bad WR. He can make highlight plays. It’s not his fault they went after him and signed him to a bucket full of top 5 money. DK will never be a top 5 ever. This is on management. I get the feeling that they too just watched highlights and not games. I do think they had to do something and give them credit for that. But they did overpay. And fans who expected more will not get it.
The way Rodgers zones in on him and nobody else has been a surprise to me. That RedZone drive at the start of the 4th quarter was absolutely embarrassing. I’ll say it for the 100th time. They have Pat,Jonnu and DW. The lack of throwing to the TE’s is the death of us offensively.

I would say entering the season depending on throwing to the tight ends was immediately going to limit this offense.

LMAO, don't get all sensitive now. I brought up Ben to compare what they surrounded Ben with compared to Aaron, just pointing out they must've thought highly of Aaron, and I even said maybe Rodgers is better now than Ben was post elbow.
You asked why/how it's possible that Ben averaged 30 yards more per game passing in 2021 than Rodgers is now. Here's the simple answer: Ben averaged 37.8 attempts per game that season. Rodgers is averaging 30.4. That's why.

I never said you have to depend on them all of the time. You have to establish the threat….throw in the middle. Move Jonnu around and not just simply throw 2 yard passes. It opens everything else up. I think they’ve misused the TE’s for years. I totally disagree with you.
Their offense has sucked *** for 6 years. This is one part of the reason.
