Mike Tomlin should not be allowed to hire coaches anymore

There was a reason he was fired previously to joining the Steelers . He is a bad coach.

They won’t fire TA. Tomlin would have to take over and he won’t have anyone to take the blame. Tomlin is and has been the problem and we are sadly stuck with him.

He's crippled this team

About 9 or so years for me. It was crystal clear after that playoff loss to Jacksonville that Tomlin was/is a fraud.

They didn't have a ton of assistants when Cowher was here, but he still hired and found good ones. Again Tomlin sucks

It’s been said that the upper level Sub-coaching has somewhat black-balled being hired by the Tomlin.

Arthur Smith had no where else to go. Flores had law suit and no one would touch him.

This is categorically false.
Charlie Brown's tree actually has branches.
They're small and wilted, but they're there.

The correct analogy for Tomlin's coaching tree is Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree.
And specifically, The Giving Tree on the final page of the book...........A FN STUMP! NO BRANCHES. NO LEAVES. NO TRUNK.
A barely peeking out of the ground stump.

Again, the knock on the Steelers not spending money on the staff has absolutely nothing to do with how much they pay assistants... most assistant coaches make roughly the same in the NFL outside of some high end coordinators.

Its that they dont have as many positions as other teams, though that is overstated a bunch too... cause whom teams regularly list as part of the staff varies greatly...

Some teams have assistant coordinators, and what position coaches have an assistant varies team by team.

As far as I can tell, the big deficit the steelers have may be game day analysts. And the medical staff.

They probably, on average, have a position coach less than the average team, but its not like they are seriously skimping... we just dont have an assistant special teams coordinator, or 2 qb coaches


We were one of the last teams to flesh out the assistant coaches, true, but its not like we have a single assistant to cover qbs/te/wr anymore...

They just need to fire his played out *** as he is as bad at coaching as he is at hiring coaches or constructing his roster. He’s a true triple threat, to any legitimate standard.

So the entire coaching fraternity realizes Tomlin is a dipshit to work for and a career dead end but dipshit Rooney can’t figure that out?

When they showed McCarthy in the box last night I thought maybe they should just have him come down to the sideline and step in as interim HC…yeah McCarthy ain’t all that either, but at least he ain’t Mike and ya gotta start somewhere.

A good old fashioned sideline firing, a public hanging for the fans to enjoy is in order at this point.
 
I have been the biggest Tomlin supporter because he IS THE COACH OF THE STEELERS...MY STEELERS...

But Coach T is getting on my last nerve these days...He has that headset on, but EVERY time they get a camera shot on him, he is NEVER talking to anyone in it.

I am yelling at the TV so why isn't Tomlin yelling at his coaches?

Seriously has anyone ever seen him talk into the headset? Just take the darn thing off your head already, you ain't gonna use it...

Obviously words, coaching and things of that nature weren’t a significant component of the game-plan to achieve winning football, even on the weighty downs. The next man up blinked, as did the man behind him and the coaching staff. Obviously we need better pedigree. If we can get just 15 straight first overall picks I’m sure that pedigree will allow the men to truly defend every blade of grass AND prevent the splash plays while doing so.

In all seriousness if you, one of the biggest Tomlin supporters I’ve ever encountered starts questioning him it may just be time for that change.

HC’s expire, their messages grow stale, sometimes the game just evolves past them and the coach can’t compete. We’ve been witness to it for awhile
now unfortunately.
 
Looking at those ridiculous uniforms and watching a veteran team made up of guys who have made a career of selfishness joining Steelers veterans that sat out preseason wanting more money just go out and embarrass this once proud franchise, once proud city, the very cradle of football… it makes you wonder who’s running this clown show? Do the Rooney’s even watch the games? Those uniforms were just stupid. Watching Cam who sat out the preseason acting like he’s the big captain is just a joke! In many ways he is the captain of this sinking ship he’s just in it for the money!! And old Rooney there just shoveling it out! It’s rediculous! The dc is in the exact same situation he was in at Cincinnati the exact! At least they woke up and fired him but why would you hire that guy to be your DC? Cause you want to prove you’re smarter than that idiot that hired him at cinny? No other reason with tomlin makes sense cuz he’s all about ego and nothing else! All of us are just soooo sick of watching this clown show! get rid of these ridiculous contracts this ridiculous coaching staff bring in a young coach like noll and young guys that want to make a name and let’s get it on! We all could care less if we lose if we are out there kick the **** out of our opponents! This clown show must end!!
