It’s not Austin’s scheme, it’s Tomlin’s. It’s how he keeps his job. The coordinator just becomes the scapegoat goat, Lebeau, Butler, Austin…rinse and repeat

They couldn’t stop a cold out there just one of the worst performances on D. And we know the guilty parties.

It is Tomlin’s scheme and Austin and Mike calling the D. You take Mike off the D and can Austin.
 
Can Arthur Smith coach defense too?

You can see the difference between a good coach and bad between Smith and Tomlin/Austin. Smith's offense struggled last year because he had crap QBs, a poor OL, and 1 malcontent WR to work with. As soon as he gets a QB and 1 decent WR, he's able to gameplan to work around an under performing OL and score points using extra OL and 3 TEs. He's getting the max out of these guys.

Contrast that with Tomlin's defense where they get the least out of the most talented defense in the league. Once again, the defense comes down to get a sack or get burned.

I can't even blame the DBs in this one. You sent them on mission impossible to single Jamar Chase all night.

This team must have a new DC next year and he can't be a puppet of Tomlin.

you are correct.

There is no single D coach in this league who ever figured out how to defend against Chase or Bert.

Some would call it silly but sure I would hand over the D to Arthur. No question about it.

He had 1 tackle and half a sack. That's a lot of money for **** production. Highsmith is a big waste of money as well.


This stuff doesn't change until they get a new coaching staff.

The only way that happens is if Tomlin retires. Steelers can't fire the Rooney Rule coach.

They lost their last 4 games. LOL, the idea that those bums were some unstoppable force coming into this game is nonsense. Coaching matters. In 3 weeks, we will be right back in the pack with the rest of the division. Bank on it.

Why is it that when our D starts looking decent and people start talking them up, they always **** the bed. Tonight they looked like a bunch of slow old men. Made Flacco look like MVP after being on the team for 7 days…
