College Football Week 6

I dont think they will fire him mid-season, but they need to...The issue is who will take over
Let somebody be the interim. Then go get a young OC that's hungry. Hell...where did Oregon find their guy? A really good Div 2/ FCS type guy that deserves a big time school. Young and upcoming.

Every Alum. Every booster. Every former player.
They all need to be calling or texting or emailing the AD and demand Franklin resign or be fired.

Feel bad for Allen and Singleton and any others that stuck around for a shot at a natty and got this sh-- sammich for their loyalty.

Arch is not that good.

I’d think he would be wise to stay in school and learn. I think he is pulling in 8million as is.

Miami just scored, nice toss and run.

21 - 3 over Florida

Man, my UW Cowboys suck. It's just bad.

This is the worst loss in Penn State history.

DC Jim Knowles scheme was fine. He adjusted throughout the game, brought blitzes, had a spy. The problem was not scheme, it was the players missing tackles and being out of position over and over. LB Tony Rojas was out and his backup Dom Deluca could not have played worse. His missed his run fits all game.

Were the defensive players jetlagged, overconfident, hangover from Oregon? I have no idea but it was crazy to watch

Last year Penn State had 2 erasers. Abdul Carter on defense and Tyler Warren on offense. They covered up a ton of sins.

OC Andy Kotalnicki needs to go. They should do that tomorrow. Yeah, they scored some points, but UCLA is a terrible defense and yet again, the WRs were not getting open. The best pass plays were Allar tucking and running. The teams all have film on Kotalnicki and nobody is fooled. Villanova wasn't fooled.

Penn State never does anything smart. UCLA, with an interim staff, saw PSU's weakness on kickoffs and got the easiest onside kick i've ever seen. They got penn state offsides twice simply by having Nico do a double clap for the snap. Then there was the final punt. Penn State didn't rush anybody and the UCLA punter was able to just hang out for like 5 seconds in the endzone before the intentional safety.

Final drive. Need to get at least to midfield to throw a Hail Mary. First play is a 1 yard pass to the RB. I literally laughed out loud.

Did RB Kaytron Allen bang Franklin's wife or something? They insist on giving Singleton more carries. For the season, Kaytron is at 7.1 per carry and Singleton is 3.8. In this game they gave Singleton 11 carries for 39 yards 3.5 avg. Kaytron had just 8 carries for 50 yards 6.3 avg and 2 TDs.

On the biggest play of the game, the 4th and 2 with seconds to go inside the 10, Kaytron is on the bench. Then they call a QB run? Unbelievable.

It would cost Penn State $56 million to fire Franklin so it's not happening. That number goes down each season. He'll be back at least for next year.

This loss could be good in the long run. They lost to Oregon but took it to OT, so they could tell themselves they're close and just need a few breaks to get over the top. With this debacle, it should force change. Use the rest of the season to figure out the new direction for next season.

They can start by getting some DTs that are 300 lbs. They've been getting pushed around up the middle for years.

Maybe they can play Texas in the who gives a **** bowl.

game on the line, your QB is playing a great game, and this is the play you call, with your best RB on the bench

Did the announcer's allude to the fact that the Tony Rojas "injury" might be a ploy to get out with his full year of eligibility intact? When is the next portal?

Well PSU came up with $ 700 million for stadium renovations, so I'm pretty sure they can scratch up $56 million to get rid of JF. The question is, do they have the stones to do it?

Honestly though, who really thought this team was a legitimate NC contender? I have been a PSU fan all my life, and when they were touted as a NC favorite in the pre season I was like whatever....Allar is not great....He is good. Not NC great. They brought in some guys to help the WR situation but there again, better, but not great. They have a completely new defensive scheme. After 2 quarters against Oregon you could see both lines are average.

I figured they would lose to Oregon. And after they lost that game the way they did, I figured they could very well travel the whole way across the county and lose to a winless UCLA team.

And they did. Enough of the NC talk already. I think we can put that to rest.

Penn State just isn't prepared for each game. Allar went from being a potential top 10 first-round pick to maybe a 3rd round pick. The O made progress last year, but, for whatever reason, has reverted back to the terrible play calling from 2 years ago. They are pathetic. Franklin needs to go but won't, just like Tomlin. It's a shame to see Franklin not allow Allar to throw the ball and highlight some of his talents. They'll get killed by OSU and maybe another loss to fall out of the top 25. Just terrible, terrible coaching.

My High School math and computer science teacher, who made a mint on the Internet back in the day, and whom is one of the most brilliant people I know, texted me, bitching about Franklin last night... its definitely time for him to go...

The funny thing is, Penn State will probably keep it close with Ohio State. There were three articles yesterday alone that Franklin and Penn State need to part ways--one local to Penn State and two national. It has to be pretty disappointing with how many players came back. I thought it was a bit insane for not just one, but both RBs to come back. That's a position you get to the NFL as soon as possible. Allar has regressed and clearly isn't the type of talent that can overcome adversity. They're on pace for playing in the Citrus Bowl.

The play at the end of the game where they left the punter run around and waste precious seconds was inexcusable.

The interim head coach called that play, the announcers called that play, everyone in the stadium and watching knew they were going to run that play, and nobody on PSU even thought about rushing the punter....

no, not after seeing the shenanigans i saw yesterday.

Danielson did say that and it’s beyond stupid. He’s injured. Why would he sit out to transfer? He’s already a starter and featured player on a defense that showcases him.
