I get that, wants to fit in. In that position you don't want anything to make you look like you're not going to play.
But the theatrics need to go, imo. They would if I were coach. It's just more bs thathas nothing to do with the game . Also top seed. I'm sure you see his fancy chain he's wearing outside said turtleneck,,,

He's been doing it since I've watched him in Ole Miss. Meh...no skin off my back because it's just for show...

I remember guys like John Randle and Chris Long going a little nuts with the eyeblack, too. Football players wear helmets most of the time...this allows a bit of personal expression for them. And they all LOVE that bling, homie.

Anakin Skywalker has a scar down his right eye and that is how Dart models his eye black. A tribute to his love of Star Wars. He started this in HS after seeing an LSU DB with this style of eye black.
 
Terry bradshaw should have painted up his face like a gorilla with eye black. You know cause planet of the apes was a cool movie at the time
