We’re Limited by Schematics! Per Tomlin, WTF!

Tomlin was responsible for the Canada mess where he let a great offensive line coach Munchak walk promoted an idiot enstead to OC, then had to replace him with a bigger idiot that had to be fired mid season… now he’s responsible for promoting the idiot that's destroying the once proud men of steel defense… how many screw ups does tomlin get? And smith is no great genius that teams are lining up to hire… enoughs enough It’s getting ridiculous!
They were praising the coach of the Lions on MNF because over half of his coaching staff was hired away by other teams this last off-season. Yup. That's our problem. Other teams keep stealing our up and coming talent away to replicate Tomlin's genius at their place. Darn it all!

In his weekly dog and pony show Tuesday Tomlin said his defense is limited by schematics. What does that even ******* mean???
Perhaps with the new players he’s making excuses that he’s limited with what he can do? Idk, but I’ve never heard a coach talk that way.

He was bragging up his brilliance just weeks ago.

Now after uncorking a nearly historic can of suck to open the season with his overrated underachievers the mental midget admits he’s limited by the schematic confines of his inferior mental processor???

WTAF is going on here? is he just playing the injury card again to absolve his lack of ability to devise solid fundamental schematics??

So many questions and not nearly enough time to listen to the absolute garble that falls out of his mouth.

I could destroy this team for half his money!

Call me, Rooney!

I’ll under cut your rate and do it for 100k per regular season win

Playoff wins are gonna cost 1,2,4 and 8 million tho Rooney…I get expensive when the games matter 🤣

But still a better deal than Mike

The Tomlin formula for the past 8 years:

Great Opponent: Get smashed, dragged, punched, beaten and humiliated.
Mediocre Opponent: Hang on like a rock climber before setting a carabiner, and pray for a last-second 50+ yard field goal.
Bad Opponent: Desperately hang on and try for a 4th quarter comeback with the requisite 50+ yard last-second field goal.
Terrible opponent: Get massively outplayed for 3 1/2 quarters, then hope for a desperation comeback win. See, Dorian Thompson-Robinson
Playoffs: See, Great Opponent

Limited by schematics and the all-time go to - poor communication. They've been using "poor communication" for a decade now.
Well that's because we have new players every year, that's the reason for "poor Communication" just ask Tomlin or the handful of fans that still defend him.

No other teams have new players each year, just us.

Oh im sure he's saying the defensive guys can't pick up the schematics so they're limited in what they can do schematically, if only he had the highest paid defense, then he could break out those super complex and amazing schematics to become a historic defense.
Isn't that why he also has one of the oldest defenses in the league. I'm sure older guys have seen w hole bunch of different schemes, so they should be able to adjust rather easily. It appears we can't get savvy vets to understand defensive concepts but other teams with very young guys can! Doesn't make much sense to me!

Yeah, but the Steelers win a lot of close games,. So this proves what an outstanding in-game tactician Tomlin must be.

Evidently, that is the prevailing mantra of those diehards still hanging on from MT's nutsack.

Tomlin isn’t our coach because of his knowledge and skill set.

Exactly. I wanted to check on how well Johnny Unitas was doing with the Colts hot start.

Or is it Bert Jones?

Combination of injuries and new players limits what you can do schematically.

Can you imagine how discouraging it is for players this week watching film and seeing how much Minn does on both sides of the ball schematically? All they can say is “we have to execute better” through gritted teeth, knowing their 8th grade vanilla schemes are going to get jacked up.

It’s one thing to get outschemed by a team with less talent, that isn’t the case this week. Minn’s roster is vastly superior to this one, especially on the LOS.

I hope this team does materialize as we progress through the season.

Sounds like Wilson is benched and Holcomb will start, that’s a big plus.

Elliot and JPorter look to play, that’s a will help some too.

I hope / can’t see us being this bad the entire season, can we ???

Week 4, should be in football shape by now…………….???

It's incredible they the experts here have recognized and identified all team issues but the bozos who own and run the team just can't seem to get it right

Is there a way to transfer the guys from here to the front office and bring the front office here to comment on their performance?

Rank em:
Mike Webster
Marquise pouncey
Jim Otto
Dermonti Dawson

1-4

I didn't see Otto play, but I'd rank them this way (excluding otto)

Dawson HOF and changed how center was played

Webster HOF and best at the time he played, 4-rings to prove it

Pouncy very good no doubt but I don't think he makes HOF except by today's water downed version.
