Nobody said we don't have a gun problem. The question is how do we solve it. With meaningless laws that won't keep guns out of the hands of criminals? Or maybe trying to get at the root causes of these shootings, improving law enforcement and security, ya know, things that might actually help.

President Donald Trump, who’d floated cracking down on leftists and liberal organizations he baselessly blamed for political violence, topped it off Friday morning by suggesting conservative extremists have been radicalized for legitimate reasons, while saying that “radicals on the left are the problem.”

At a time when politicians and presidents usually call for calm and unity, his rhetoric was throwing fuel on the fire. And it wasn’t difficult to see how that could lead to even more ugly places.

And this was done with ABSOLUTELY NO INFORMATION WHATSOEVER about who carried out this assassination.

How utterly pathetic and unironic, these past 48 hours have been.

Taking Charlie Kirk's lead, I will never lose hope that members of the MAGA cult will slowly, gradually return to normalcy, and find their way off the ledge. However long it may take. Charlie Kirk, in the end, was a voice of reason, demanding full disclosure of the Epstein files, as Trump and his sycophants on the Hill and the wretched MAGA media continue to lie and deceive the naive base who voted for him.

So, all those who've chimed in on this thread, here's your golden chance to man up and apologize for jumping to conclusions, for seeing what you wanted to see, for being so clearly and blatantly wrong about the perpetrator of this heinous crime.

Wrong about what? Dude, you're becoming unhinged. Are you seriously suggesting this kid was a Republican Trump supporter? It's been widely reported that he was an unaffiliated voter and expressed hatred for Charlie Kirk. WTF do his parents' political beliefs have to do with anything? You never met a kid who rejected his parents' political beliefs?

  • Supporting the nuclear family
  • Love of God, family, the United States, in that order
  • Protecting America, including by enforcing our borders
  • Encouraging dialogue and debate
  • Defending what are deemed "conservative" views (God, family, country, protecting the innocent, punishing criminals, closing the border, deporting those who do not belong here) but doing so calmly and respectfully.
Not sure why the hell anybody would disagree with any of that. Still, Tibilo came to this site to offer views I think are what we all feel and all of us certainly should feel, other than the disagreeing with Charlie's views.

Imagine that, I'm a centrist American, who holds numerous, traditional conservative values, and leans a bit left on certain issues. I also reject extremism on both sides, including open borders, left-wing lunatics, and particularly the institutionalized, right-wing extremism we have with MAGA in the halls of power. God forbid I express my views on a public message board.

This is a pretty accurate summary of the engagement so far:

Coupon: "Let's take firearms away from Americans who have done nothing wrong and never even committed a crime!"

Coupon: "Okay, great, let's do nothing! Taking away guns from law-abiding Americans will at least prevent law-abiding Americans from ... uhhh, see ... I mean ... that is ... well, see ... THOUSANDS OF ROUNDS PER MINUTE!"

Sure as hell hope coupon's coupon is for more Depends and not firearms since anybody that stupid would be dangerous if armed.
