There is some extreme suck hiding on that PS
I can’t believe that they brought him back
Just talking about 1 guy in particular, the rest seem to at least have potential
Or some value, but damn…they brought HIM back?!?

Can’t tell me ya couldn’t find better depth than him…
Any guesses?

That seems like way too many.

My bad, for some reason I 8 in my head.

How funny would it be to see 2 Porter Jr’s starting at CB?

( they should have a 17th spot open cause Welschof is exempt)

So by position: DB
-Bishop was a good add. I loathe cutting ties with young playmakers.
- Castro showed huge potential, perfect developmental guy
- Pierre - surprised nobody ever takes run at him for his ST prowness...
- Jamison - i thought the now injured McCutcheon was better, but this kid had an extremely good camp too...
-Porter Jr 2.0 - staff seems really high on him... played well in limited action in preseason

All in all a really nice group... I thought Pierre or Bishop might stick and Kent would be on here, but no real surprises

Lb.
Kind of surprised only welschof made this.... i guess leal is a olb too...

Dl
Leal- probably more of a Olb for them... not certain he fits the system outside of flexibility

Baugh... i guess he got this by the process of elimination.. Lowry got hurt and IRd so Esezi Otomewo made the team... and Davis got hurt and waived injured
I mean he did have a preseason sack....

Te JJ Galbreath. Really good get here... thought he was 3te worthy on some teams

Ol
G Steven Jones- second year on the PS
OT Dylan Cook... has to get mentally quicker off the snap

RB - honestly the two best options

Wr... Hurleman(you knew he was sticking around)
Keyshawn Williams- backup Kr/pr
Woods.... Im almost worried CA3 wont be ready for the season because they opted for him over the younger deep threats

Early announcements

WR Robert Woods
WR Ke'Shawn Williams
OL Steven Jones
TE JJ Galbreath
S Sebastian Castro
DL DeMarvin Leal
CB Beanie Bishop
CB James Pierre

Im only really surprised they kept Woods over a younger WR, though there are plenty of spots to fill
Can someone explain to me how contracts work on the practice squad? Do they get paid the money they signed for? Below is Beanie Bishops contract he signed for as an example. When he got cut that goes to zero, then they negotiate new for practice squad? Also,do practice squad players count against the cap?

Beanie Bishop signed a 3-year, $2,855,000 undrafted free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in April 2024. The contract included a $25,000 signing bonus, with the total value of the contract also including $25,000 guaranteed. On August 27, 2025, after being waived during roster cuts, the Steelers re-signed him to their practice squad.

No. There is a CBA mandated contract for ps players... guys with two or less accrued years make a bit over 13 grand per week. Vets make 17 grand per week... there can only be two vets with 3 or more accrued years, (so with Pierre and Woods, robinson isnt eligible for us)

Bishop will make just over 230k this season on the PS

Not a fan of Him either.
Who was a much better.

Also note that if a PS player is called up for a temp stint, they get a week of minimum wage pay from the nfl
Minimum wage scales by accrued years... for a rookie its 840k a year... for a one year guy like Bishop, its 960k... divide that by 18 weeks, and for each call up he will get a bit over 53k each week he is called up

Though you can only have three call ups before you mist be signed to the roster

Thanks Mad. What happens if there is an injury and Beanie gets called up? Does he still get paid 13k? Or Do they have to come to terms with a new contract? Or is it also mandated through the CBA

Edit…..Oops was typing that when you were typing your reply. 🙂👍
