There wasn't a single cb after the first round that is a sure thing. We have a 6'1" cb who was always 4-5 yards away from the receiver. I'd rather have a 5'9" guy who can keep up with receivers, than a 6'2" guy who can't. Will he occasionally be victimized because of his height? Sure he will, but he can make up for that by making some big plays. Those tall guys who were left are going to be victimized by their lack of skill, and they won't be picking off balls to make up for it. This kid is polished, and will see the field now. Those taller guys are all projects, who need to be developed, wouldn't help us this year, and could easily be the next Cortez Allen.
I would also say that a lot of the guys in round one were far from finished products and were not great. I think the best that was available in this draft was good and then ok. There were a fair number of them but no great players in the bunch.
