Rodgers will play zero minutes in the preseason

Most teams and games look like trash the first few weeks of the regular season.


You can't possible get to competition level/shape without real competition.

Just watch the amount of strains,sprains and tears around the league the first month.
 
Well, when your QB is 41 years old and made of glass...no...candied sugar, you kinda have to keep him on the bench wrapped in bubble wrap and a blankie to keep him warm and cozy on these chilly Pittsburgh evenings. :cool:

A handful of snaps isn’t going to have any effect on the upcoming season.

I also read that shared practices are the ticket, they get way more out of them than the actual pre-season games.

Rogers was a FULL participant in the shared practice of the Buccaneers team.

Most teams play their starters a couple series. A couple of series in a meaningless game is not going to condition or prepare guys especially if the other team isn't playing starters and using vanilla schemes.
 
Forget that Mr.Rodgers will have failed to take a preseason snap. He didn’t forget how to play QB.
The key as always will be the OL, period. Can they keep him clean and provide him enough time to make his reads? Idk, we shall see but that’s the key on whether he’s successful or he’s not.
The OL must do their part and there has to be a legit running game or this thing goes off the rails quickly.
No offense means much more pressure on an aged defense which will burn out by end of November just like in seasons past.

I think they should play in preseason. Let's get that out of the way. But you are being disingenuous here. If they would get a major guy hurt, it would be another rip session on Tomlin. In this he is truly damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
