I thought I caught a comment to that effect, but don't have confirmation yet.

If so, what is up with that?

A. Injuries at several other positions required bodies for the final preseason game
B. They have already cut guys then brought them back a couple days later in this same scenario this year
C. Traditionally, this was the first cutdown phase, and guys cut early sometimes were brought back to the PS
D. Taylor was limited in routes... he was like Washington, a mid speed deep threat who didnt have slot flexibility yet
E. He offered little over average play on special teams
F. He was an ok downfield blocker, but nothing special

Gabe Davis would offer much of the same athletic profile but with more experience, i guess....

Id probably go with the younger guy with potential over the pedigree guy with whom you know what you are getting..

Rooney heard berm liked the kid and that was all it took

Kind of like

Outlaw Jose Whales…… “everyone I liked or cared for is gone”

Indian chief companion “ I noticed when you dislike someone, they ain’t around for long either”

Watching the games I cannot possibly see how he was low man on the totem pole in that WR room. I dont think even close really. Even Robert Woods. He looks like **** to me.

I think two other rookies have jumped over him. I also think Woods is on the bubble of making this team. Blocking and experience being his only leg up. K. Williams and Hurleman are likely above him. Max may be listed as a RB but he is more WR than RB. He had a down game but I like him. He should be PS at min. K. Williams has also flashed.

WR room as I see it. DK, Wilson, Austin, Skow, Miller and possibly one more from the remaining candidates or an outside player like Davis.

Steelers signed 3 and brought in Gabe Davis for a second visit. They had to cut 3.

Out:
Taylor (WR)
Feihoko (NT)
Harper (ILB)

In:
Alexander (CB)
McQuaide (LS)
Pearl (OT)

Funny enough, none of the guys leaving are the same positions as the guys coming in. The LS is because Kuntz is injured and likely not bad enough that he'll be shelved for the season. Harper and Feihoko were down the chart in deep positions. No idea why Roc.

DK could be an upgrade over Pickens otherwise we have a bunch of pint sized unknowns and aging WR4's
Has to be the statistically one of the absolute worst WR room on paper.

I liked Roc Taylor if no other reason than just his name.

I think he comes back to PS.

This is why he is compensated well

In a seriousness he was JAG, the train keeps moving and he won't be missed. If the season hinged on Roc there are serious issues, I wish him well in his future endeavors.

we will soon see if Gabe Davis has the train hopping ability to join the ride, can't imagine him coming in for a second visit is just for giggles (although the Steelers may be being used as leverage for the contract he desires with the 49ers)

I think his name was the biggest reason most liked Roc

He could have been in one of those prison movies or sci-fI Flicks where he was the hero in the end………

Star power name

Anybody see that receiver bounce of him in that game? GM didn’t I take it! That’s what we miss with all these midge receivers! I was pissed to see him cut they didn’t give him a chance but with both of the midge receivers we sat on both them a whole year! Austin still isn’t playing!! Steelers just make it really really hard to keep coming back to the same~o **** every year!

Train hoppiN was serious business back in the 30s & 40s. Most teams don’t use trains as transportation this day and age, but I am relieved to know Coach Tomlin is keeping the tradition alive………………..
