He is trying to break the tradition of not renegotiating with 2 years left.Well that sucks. And they are not in position to part ways
Part ways? He is under contract.Well that sucks. And they are not in position to part ways
As in cut or trade himPart ways? He is under contract.
Or .....Send him to the Browns for Pickett and a 7th.He is trying to break the tradition of not renegotiating with 2 years left.
I wouldnt. Love the guy, but if he sat out the mandatory fines would eat up his contract. Dont set that precedent. Id hate to trade him, but send him to a real contender, save six mil or so on the cap this year, abd add a freaken stud WR
FO should just tell....no. Not that hard really. He seems kind of phony. He wants to portray that he's loyal, wants to win, etc. but at the end of the day he just wants the $$$$$. That's fine, just own it.
He is at the end of his career. He already banked the $$$$. Infact...after signing his new deal last season he banked $$$$. I believe he is on the books for like $1.3 mill this season. Cap hit upwards of $14 mill to $15 mill. His bonus is already in the bank or being spent. Greed is ugly at times.I’m neutral on this and kinda in Heyward’s corner here. He did sign a contract last year and outplayed the contract. He is ranked among the top DE’s in the league. He’s the anchor to the defense and a leader of the team. That being said, the Steelers signed the contract too. If Cam under performed last year and looked like a dud, or any player regardless of contract, they would tell Cam or whatever player to get on with their life’s work.
Cam doesn’t have a guarantee on his contract. I don’t blame him for wanting a little guaranteed padding for his pocket. Things happen, he could have a career ending injury first snap of the opening of the season. I hope that both parties find an amicable resolution
Why would they cut him or trade him he is under contract....one he signed last season? Oh....that is right......volunteers and not hostages. I forgot about that.As in cut or trade him
