The Pittsburgh Steelers have a very interesting situation at quarterback. Four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers is the unquestioned starter going into the 2025 season, and behind him is Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson. Howard was a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but the fan base is very excited about his potential after he won the National Championship. He has the size and skills to be a good player in the league, but he is going to need to develop and refine his skills in the near future.

Centre/Qb exchange. Listening to Shades was throwing hand. I doubt he plays Saturday. I'd imagine if it's broke it wouod be a while.

This ends the delusions of fans thinking he was gonna wrest the starting or backup spot away from the top 2 in preseason

He is still a project. He wasnt gonna play this year barring a catastrophe. If anything quelling the hype a little bit could be good for his long term development...

yep....it would have been nice to see him in preseason, but now he gets a full year to learn from Ayahuasca A-Ron.

Yep

The thing is his first preseason was gonna be a lose lose.... if he played like a typical sixth round rookie, the wheels were coming off the bandwagon in a hurry..

If he did anything good, it would get overhyped and the fanboys would be screaming for him to leapfrog the other two and start after every incompletion... and that can get awkward... now he can practice nfl accuracy and learn the playbook in peace for a bit

I thought he had an outside chance. Less due to how the team plays vets.

But yeah the odds that he will be anything more than a third out the gates just increased.

Odds of a QB drafted early just increased as well.

My delusions were to see how he looked in pre season. Maybe not have to draft a first. Gone.
 
Sigh, tough break for Howard, watching him play this preseason would have been fun. Maybe he can get back for the last preseason game

Stinks for the fans too as we’ll now get a heavy preseason diet of Skylar Thompson or another vet that is going nowhere out there.

In addition to Rodgers I bet Rudolph’s pre season game reps are now limited too for safety sake
