And this is why this isn't a big deal. The issue is why the left insists that everyone embrace their off the wall agendas or else you're a ____________.
If you like the WNBA great, but few do, so stop telling everyone that you must support them, and that they deserve more $$ for a product few want.
I pretty much only follow the NFL and college football and couldn't care less about any other sport out there, no one's telling me I must support the PGA.

The dildo thing is over the top though, just leave them alone and they'll die off due to lack of interest, like Colbert.

Anecdotal truth, the husband of a woman that I worked with was (is?) a maintenance worker at the Phoenix Arena (hard to keep up with the name changes), home of the Suns and Mercury. She was always bringing in free tickets to the Mercury games that no one wanted, other than the lesbian (not that there's anything wrong with that) at the clinic that always took them.

Everybody here knows that for a few weeks each year you emerge from your safe space, probably as part of your therapeutic recovery, from under the rocks, under the bridge over the Danube in the city part of Hungaristan.

And eventually you get very mad, write nasty things, then slightly apologize and slink back into your safe space to deal with your raging TDS.
