Official Day 2 Draft Discussion May 1st

Yep, they think Gregory is mentally fragile. Not in a football sense, but in a real life sense.

I like Rowe also. Gregory: It doesnt matter if is drugs, poor play or what ever. A bust is a bust.

Gregory would be an excellent pick if he's there. You think this kid had something to prove before you just wait and see him now.....he's not as much of a headcase as the media is making him out to be. They have all but assassinated his character and he will be coming into the NFL with something to prove to all the doubters.....He's not a BUST! Jarvis Jones is a BUST! Gregory has all the tools! Wait and see!

I tell you what if the Steelers are up and Gregory and Rowe are there I'd be torn....i wouldn't know what to do. With Gregory and if he keeps his nose clean you set your LBers for the next decade in one draft....but I'd have to think the Steelers will go DB because we have no one back there...

If Gregory is there when the Steelers pick they'd be absolutely crazy to not take a chance on him! JJ is a BUST! Gregory would be an immediate upgrade and now Gregory is going to be playing with more intensity and passion than ever....he will want to prove to all teams who passed on this kid....they really screwed up! I'd gladly welcome Gregory if he's there because he got something to prove!
Chico, I see what you see in Gregory as a player, but how can so many personnel men get it wrong at this point? I have a sense you may not understand the weight of such a high profile player getting passed up over and over and over.... there must be a file on this guy that hasn't been made public, perhaps a psychological issue or something...

While I want to remain optimistic - SOMETHING just ain't right when a TOP FIVE draft pick falls this far. Why is EVERY TEAM passing on him TWICE (so far)??? Would he be a great addition - absolutely; but, SOMETHING in the milk ain't clean...

I think it's obvious Gregory is off a LOT of teams' boards right now.

Gregory is dropping like a hot rock and apparently no one wants a linebacker the size of a safety with mental health and drug issues, other than that he sounds solid.

Carolina probably going OL.....Fisher? So players keep falling

Gregory hasn't played a down yet, you know he is NOT a bust....he could get paid and just smoke it all up.......and suck ***

or he could be great....no way to know until they hit the field

Just opened the tap on the high risk players.

Dorial Green Beckham is a LOT like Plaxico Burress, who Whiz coached....

The concern is that, through no fault of his own, Gregory's problems might be manageable, but not fixable, which makes his landing in the right environment (as the scout alluded to) vital.

One NFC general manager said, "There are more negatives than positives." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000488780/article/concern-exists-on-gregory-handling-pro-footballs-mental-rigors

Again, the word on Gregory appears to be that he is mentally fragile and will need to be babysat as the mental rigors of the NFL might overwhelm him. This is not a question of talent, but rather of "who wants to spend the extra time monitoring this kid's mental health and at what point does the talent overcome the need to monitor him? I don't think the Steelers, in the middle of a "transition" want that responsibility. Apparently, not many teams do.

Yet a poster on this board last night thought he could play LOLB for us.

Do you remember Charles Rogers? Same player.

I thought Wiz would take Strong who should fall to the Browns now.

Hopefully someone takes Strong before the Browns pick

Actually, that is almost verbatim what the guy told me. Apparently, the teams have been made aware of potential mental health issues. Still, great college player though.

Wow... Carolina gave up their 2nd and 3rd and 6th round picks to move up.

Panthers gotta take Strong and get Cam help. Especially after that gawd awful 1st pick.

Just heard Bouchette is saying Pitt has one CB on the board in the 2nd. If he is gone before they can get him, CB in 3 or 4. Maybe Lockett in 2.

Has to be WR or OT.... but no matter who it is, they gave up too much.

We need a CB more than we need a lightweight OLB who has issues. Let Gregory
be someone else's problem.
