Rodgers Signing with Black n’ Gold

I heard Ryan Clark say yesterday that when Tomlin took over for Cowher the whole locker room changed for the better...He said he changed the culture...
Culture change? The culture that was 7-3 in the postseason the previous 6 years, with 3 AFCCG's, and a Super Bowl win?

The same Ryan Clark that bitched about the way AB was given special treatment? The same Ryan Clark that played 1 whole season here before Tomlin got here?

I agree with that for the most part, the issue is will Tomlin actually use the pieces we brought in, or will he be his normal stubborn conservative self and run everything like he has been? Hopefully AR in his last season will tell Tomlin to shove it if he starts calling all that conservative nothing over the middle crap.
Rodgers’ ability to change Tomlin’s stubborn offensive tendencies, or not, will make or break this season.

Yes, I can remember Tomlin’s training camps when he took over kicked everyone in the butt because they were so physical and intense compared to before him and Tomlin did change culture for the better early in his career here.

Now it’s Tomlin who has gotten stale, coddled bad actors, clings to stubborn outdated schemes, and has allowed complacency to infect every part of this team starting with his coaching staff.

The only thing that refreshes it is Tomlins exit, if he was going to change this it would have already happened

What exactly does that mean, "for the better." Better for who?
Were the players no longer held responsible for anything? Cowher often stated that it was his job to coach the team and not be everyone's best friend.

Yup…that same blowhard Tomlin boot licker that when he finally has a good take it will be his first good take. One of the most annoying apologists ever.

Do you believe in energy? I believe every Steeler fan has energy that can hurt or heal...Negative energy hurts the team...They don't realize they kill the whole vibe of the Steelers as a whole...It's not Tomlin's fault it's all the negative energy in the fan base...

We suck as a fan base

No one is comparing him to Lewis or vice versa, he ranks right behind Lewis in going the longest with one team without a playoff win, and no coach has EVER lost 6 straight playoff games while giving up 28+ in each game except Tomlin. You're just proving the point, the standard is suddenly non losing seasons and just making the playoffs, like that's some kind of accomplishment. We've had the highest paid defense in the NFL.

Where are the season ticket holders here? Tell me the excitement around that stadium on Sundays hasn't drastically dropped over the past handful of years. I just talked to Justin(Steelerfan81) on Fathers Day and he brought it up too, he's never seen this much lack of excitement around the Steelers.

I think it’s been 4, maybe 5 years now on the highest paid defense. That includes this year because that salary cap information just came out. I can’t remember the numbers but for some reason I think the defense is 176million.

Remember that we have several rookie salaries on the OL and aren’t paying big QB money either.

The funny part is the Tomlin apologists fail to see he inherited a great roster, a great culture, a HOF QB and great coordinators, Tomlin didn't create a damn thing, just look how it slowly started going off the rails as those players/coaches left and Tomlin slowly took more and more control over everything. If he came in and changed the culture, then what the **** is going on with the culture for the past 13 years? Oh I got it he only fixed it for 4 seasons.

Ryan Clark talks a lot because that is his job now. He is just filling airspace.

He needs to put one ear plug in so when he is filling the space from the other ear, it doesn’t run out.

Tilt his head sideways and once full, plug that one as well.

Put a bubble machine in. His mouth so as he can see what he spewsssssss.

No, that's wrong. First of all, any defense of Tomlin and...apologist! It's like racist! or anti-semite! It's to shut down any opposition to the narrative.

I have never questioned what Tomlin inherited. It is true. But he was the coach when they won in 2008, and there is no guarantee Cowher would have. We KNOW Tomlin did. That is where it should end it pertains to that particular year.

No one said the title is not Tomlin's, that was in reference to Ryan Clark saying Tomlin came in here and immediately changed the culture. It was a winning culture already, the fact that once the guys he inherited and coaches he inherited started leaving, the team started going south, that proves the exact opposite. Since those guys left and Tomlin was tasked with rebuilding the roster and we've won 3 playoff games since 2010 again proves he's not a great coach. Same thing with Barry Switzer, took over a great roster, with a winning culture, he won, those players aged out and he couldn't do anything on his own, exactly what's going on with Tomlin.
It's been his roster, his culture, his coaches for a long, long time and we've seen a historically bad playoff drought.

Ok. You are right. I didn't read the context. I reacted. That's my fault. I don't disagree with anything you said there.

Again, I’m eagerly awaiting the sideline meltdown when Rodgers is told not to throw over the middle, not to call audibles, and not to run play action.

Does anyone believe that Rodgers is coming to Pittsburgh and playing with handcuffs on? With his giant ego, was he too afraid to ask about his role in both input and execution? He's been talking with Tomlin weekly and also regularly with Smith - I can't see them being on two different pages on this..

Seems Tomlin has a history of saying one thing and doing another, ask Legarrett Blount and James Harrison. I doubt Tomlin told Minkah he was going to make him play centerfield and not allow him to come up and make plays.
