Rodgers Signing with Black n’ Gold

This isn't Joe Namath on 2 creaky knees not lasting 4 games with the LA RAMS. (I still remember him getting pounded & swallowed up in the pocket, it was brutal to watch)

We just added a 4 time MVP & the Ultimate Gun-Slinger at QB who even @ 41 is pretty darn dangerous...I am predicting a TB12 Tampa Bay Revival type thing...Rodgers decision making at the LOS hasn't diminished at all. The dude is a tree hugger & watches his diet, works out, & he still has superior arm-strength...
We get him just a little time & he will pick teams apart. I also think he's gonna have huge chip on his shoulder, which is always good.

I am thinking he's gonna put on a show & play lights out...

The last two drafts have been good.

Didn't see where I said the draft as a whole. They screw their best pick up over and over, and that is the pick that he and I were referring to. Ever heard of PIcket? Bush? Jones has one more year or he's a top pick bust as well.

I like that we finally have someone that can read defenses. That alone is worth the signing. He abandons the play and throws it in the dirt alot when his teammates screw it up. I imagine he'll throw it in the dirt several times because of Broderick.

DeBustro, Jarvis Jones, Artie Burns (wow), Edmunds, Najee........1st round picks that make you want to vomit.

Now how much will Tomlin handcuff the offense is the real question? Wilson had a great game vs Cincy, and Tomlin put a stop to that kind of offense the following week, hell the second game vs Cincy and their pathetic defense our offense was pedestrian, Wilson ended up with 31 attempts, but 20 of those came in the 4th qtr when were down by double digits.
wasnt that the game where Wilson and Smith were in disagreement on how to run the offense? Seems it was the turning point of the season. Downhill.

In response to Gilbert post #128

Sorry, even though the # 12 isn’t officially retired, it is. That number will NOT be given out to a 1yr contract guy.

Terry Bradshaw is way WAY way bigger to this franchise / NFL than Aaaaa-Ron ever will be.

Salute the nation

And I repeat the last two years I am perfectly fine with their top pick. Jones will be fine and every other player you mention wasn't picked by the current front office. Therefore, it is a moot point. There has been a noticeable shift in draft and free agent strategy. WE knew Jones was very raw and then circumstances mostly beyond their control forced their hand in playing him on the right.

New regime, only if you've been living in a cave you wouldn't know Colbert is long gone
There are some really big caves in Kentucky and some very backwards places. I am surprised he knows how to even use the interwebs and has access.

C’mon Berm. I know you are loyal. But there is no way in hell you don’t see that the Offensive Coaching philosophy of the Steelers has held back players from opening up in the QB position. Week in and week out. What Coryea stated was perfectly valid. Russ had that one game that showcased his talents….the game book opened up…..then bang….slammed shut. Never forget how absolutely horrible we have looked offensively in the last 5 years.
The amount of times we have had less than 5 first downs or 7 points in the first half. No quick hitting crossing routes. Rarely passes thrown in the 7-15 yard range. Slants? What slants. Middle? What middle.
Little 1-3 yard dump off passes. Throws well before the first down marker. That’s what we have lived on for the last 5 years including Ben’s last couple. I can’t for the life of me see how anyone would think that Tomlin hasn’t held the QB position Back.
Also when you run on 1st and 2nd down at the high rate the Steelers have(much of the time a stacked box) it set us up for a third and long. Which we either threw a deep jump ball pass or a short pass which was most of the time short of the sticks.

I hope you are right. We still have to hope Tomlin opens the offense up. Mixes the run and pass some. You know....basically completely change our offense of the last 5 or so years.

Then we have our D issues. Fingers crossed it all works out.

Oh I see it. I just choose not to dwell on it and moan about it every time I post or create a thread. None of us can change the HC or his staff and their weekly plans.

I have never said that Coach Tomlin is a genius or that he’s the greatest. I simply applaud the fact that the team has not been an embarrassment as the Bucs, Browns or Saints and old Lions…but, eh, maybe that’s what is needed to bring the fandom back??? I don’t know.

Except for that one time we lost to those Browns, in a playoff game, in our house.

See what happened when Tomlin “uncuffed” Ben? He threw 4 INT’s !!!
That, and the D completely sukking.
