Rd 1 - Randy Gregory, OLB (Shane Ray is still on the board - my 1A & 1B are neck and neck - either choice will make me very happy)
Rd 2 - Alex Carter, CB (Marcus Peters is still on the board taken later by the Rats - he's my pick here, if available)
Rd 3 - Dezmin Lewis, WR (Devin Funchess, TE still on the board and TE is the greater need - Funchess is my pick here)
Rd 4 - Jeremy Langford, RB (Gerod Holliman, FS still on the board - RB does not trump getting younger on defense - my pick Holliman)
Rd 5 - Jesse James, TE (David Cobb, RB still on the board - value pick here; Za'Darius Smith, DE/OLB is another option here)
Rd 6a - Nick Marshall, CB (I've never seen Marshall play CB; while he is an athlete - I'm not sure I'm happy w/ this pick - any QB here to help rid the roster of Landry Jones would make me happy)
Rd 6b - Quinton Spain, G/OT (scratching my head again here - maybe Charlie knows something we don't about Spain???)
Rd 7 - Cody Fajardo, QB (Finally, a replacement for Landry - I guess the Nick Marshall pick in the 6th could work???)

He probably knows Spain had an official visit so is on the Steeler's radar.

To much offense, for a DEFENSE need team. But taking into account of our past DrAFT expertease, might be hitting the nail on the head.

The mock drafts are getting crazier and crazier as we get closer to the day.

This stuff is just **** on a wall now.

Thanks deljzc, reinforces my thinking as well.

This is one of the toughest drafts ever to figure out. Usually there are consensus top rated players at each position and they usually come off the board pretty much in that order. This draft, i think teams will have much different grades on players.

It's also unusual because there appears to be few first round OL prospects. Last year there were 5 OL taken in the first 19 picks. That seems unlikely this year. I think teams use OL as a crutch sometimes. When you're not sure who to draft, take OL.

You rarely hear an OL pick criticized and even if a 1st round OL is not as good as you hoped, they tend to be good enough to start. Even a bust like Tony Mandarich ended up switching to G and having a decent career.

Blindside!!!

How many draft experts let alone fans here had us taking Shazier last year? It is a lottery every year trying to figure out who is going where. Every man and his dog has us taking a CB or OLB at 22. If recent history is anything to go by we take the BPA available on our board so don't be too shocked if that pick ends up being OL, DL or WR.

1. Gregory OLB
2. Peters CB
3. Kikaha OLB
4. Ty Montgomery WR
5. Golston CB
6.Karlos Williams RB
6c Jordan Richards S
7. Jessie James TE

I agree. This is a average at best type of draft in terms of talent. To complicate things there are many character risks in rounds one and two.

I just see no way Peters drops from a potential top 10 pick to the mid to late second round. That would be a shock - especially with all of these idiots testing positive for and getting busted for possession of drugs. Who do you take at this point? I still stay far away from Gregory who appears to have issues with pot - more than just a recreational use here and there.

Is Gregory falling on everybody's boards? I was under the impression this guy was a top 10 pick

Question is do we take a risk at character or skip that and pick another dud...

Unfortunately, even if Gregory is available we can't take him. We already have Bell and a team doesn't want to build a huff circle. Everyone knows what happens when pot heads get together...puff, puff and pass...on Gregory.

Side note, why does Bell look high as a kite in every selfie he takes? I see a much longer than 3 game suspension in his future if he doesn't figure it out, drafting Gregory won't help this condition.
