If the 1st two rounds were to shake out like this I would be overjoyed!

My picks:
1. Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State. I agree.
2. Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington. I agree, willing to overlook injury history for his upside here in the 2nd round.
3. Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State. Safety can wait. Fills a need for quick slot receiver and return man. Philip Dorsett is also available.
4. Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame. I just dont see us drafting a RB here when we need a young TE to groom behind HEATHHHHHHHHH.
5. Gerod Holliman, S, Louisville. True ball hawk, doubt he will last this long though. Dont have a problem with an OLINE pick here in principle, but not when there is a defensive playmaker still on the board.
6. Zack Wegenman, EDGE, Montana. Agree. With Kikaha's injury history cant hurt to add another OLB.
6 comp. Ray Drew, DE, Georgia. Developmental DLINE, cause we were robbed of the others last year.
7. Nick Marshall, CB/QB, Auburn. Like this pick anywhere in rounds 5-7. Bye bye laundry jones, can be our third QB as we develop him as a CB or S.

If Waynes is there we have to pick him, but i very highly doubt we will sniff him without moving up
 
Waynes will be long gone by the time we pick at #22. I think its Bud Dupree and he may be there for us to grab. If not then with Kevin Johnson or Peters both badly needed CB's.

Green = I like a lot
Orange = Would rather have someone else in the round, but decent player
Red = Hate the pick. We can not afford a WR in round three this year

No comment on the last two picks.
 
Mock me out. My picks

1 ) CB Waynes - Wow what a steal at a positon of need. No brainier.
2 ) OLB Orchard. Loved his senior bowl week and production during the season.
3 )CB Olomu - Had a 1st round grade, then got hurt. Ultra competitive and productive. A little short. A 3rd corner at the least, playmaking 2nd CB upside.
4 ) OG Marpet -Would be a steal, Replacement for Foster
5 ) FS Holliman Upside safety. Another steal.
6 ) OLB Wagenmann - Small school guy who worked out well. Another pass rusher, and possible special teams coverage star.
6 Comp pick. NT McCarthy. A steal at this point. McClendon is a free agent next year
7 ) RB K WIlliams

Probably means the end of McLendon after the season and I don't know what it means for McCullers. But at this point nice value pick.

RD3- David Johnson RB Northern Iowa.
Personally have him ranked as the third best RB.

RD4- Ali Marpet OG Hobart
Very athletic kid with a ton of upside.

RD5- Senquez Golson CB Ole Miss
A need and value at this point.

RD6a- Sean Hickey OT/OG Syracuse
Smart and versatile lineman. I think he'd excel in the zone scheme.

RD6b- Jean Sifrin TE Massachusetts
Has upside and Miller isn't getting younger.

RD7- Max Valles OLB Virginia
Has some skills just needs to be coached up.
 
I'm not a huge fan of mocks, but I think there are some things worthwhile to discuss.

If the Steelers DON'T take an OLB in the first round, there is a chance I am very disappointed in the group left to pick from in round 2. I think Orchard and Kikahu are pretty overrated and maxed out. I like Mauldin and Flowers but their 40-times scare me. After that it's a crap shoot, mid-round guys at best.

If I had to force this draft I might pick both Mauldin AND Flowers and hope one works out:

Kevin Lockett, a former second rd pick of the Chiefs is his father.
 
Can't figure this draft out. But a few of things stand out.

1) There WILL be a run on both CBs and OLB in the first round.
2) The CB class is deeper than the OLB class. So, if you want even one of the good second tier OLBs (think Harold/Orchard/Diggy), you may have to take him in the first (hopefully after trading back).
3) The Steelers are looking to draft a TE this year. They've just brought too many of them in for visits to think otherwise.
 
We drafted Charles Lockett (no relation) in the 3rd round out of Long Beach St. in the 1987 draft haul including Woodson, Delton Hall, Thomas Everett, Lloyd and Hoge.

Just looking at some old draft stuff. I saw redrafting the 2015 running back class and I remembered having Johnson really high on my board.
