Revenge is sweet and today's beatdown of our neighbor to the north was well deserved! I was a little concerned with how well our offense would perform with George Pickens being a late scratch I expected a classic AFC North scrap decided by who has the ball last but the Steelers got some good individual efforts on the Defensive side of the football that made all the difference in this one today as our Steelers put up their 10th win of the season. Steelers offense started off slow as 4 of the first 5 drives all went 3 & Out and the Steelers settled for a measly 3 points with Russell Wilson only throwing for 39 yds up to that point. Browns seemed to be stacking the box early to stop the run. Would have been nice to see the Steelers call a few play action passing plays to see if they could hit a deep throw for a big play downfield. It wasn't until a Jameis INT on a great play by Keanu Benton to recognize the screen and step into the throwing lane and intercepting a pass that the Steelers offense finally got going with a 31 yd TD drive capped off by a Najee Harris 1 yd TD run to the give the Steelers a 10-7 lead.......and they would never look back from that point. Russell Wilson and the offense was able to figure out the Browns Defense in the 3rd Quarter and he engineered 2 nice TD Drives to give the Steelers a 27-7 lead. Cleveland would add a touchdown late to make it 27-14.

Defensively the Steelers set the tone early as TJ Watt absolutely blasted Nick Chubb for a 5yd loss on their first play from scrimmage. Each and every week I am in awe at how well Cameron Heyward is playing out there. He's young to me at only 35 years old but damn he's really playing some of the best football of his career and at 35 years old that's just amazing! Deshon Elliott had another great game racking up 11 tackles and 1 pass defensed today. So many players stepped up today defensively in situation football.....more mention of those guys down below. Jameis is a modern day Jeff George....cannon for an arm but he's a turnover machine. He is the type of QB the Browns should give a 10 year Guaranteed Contract to.....lets hope that happens!

Looking ahead to the Eagles game next week I think the Steelers will see a similar Defensive scheme that the Browns have thrown at them the past 2 weeks. Pittsburgh never plays well in Philthy! I hope George Pickens is able to go next week as we are entering the most difficult 3 game stretch I can remember in a long time. The next 3 games over a 10 days span are just brutal.....@ Philthy, @ Baltimore & home to the Chiefs on Christmas Day. If we go 3-0 I might just lose my marbles.....I'm hoping they can at least go 2-1 in that stretch as they get ready for a playoff run. I'm still unsure about Mike Williams.....I almost wonder if Tomlin is intentionally holding him back in terms of reps until we get to the playoffs.

This team looks pretty healthy right now but I'm wondering what the injury status of these guys going forward is right now.....Troy Fautanu, Roman Wilson, Cole Holcomb. All 3 of these guys can be solid contributors down the stretch run if give the chance.....not sure what their injury status is though.

Per Tomlin's Post Game:
Larry Ogunjobi - Groin injury in the 2nd Quarter....was unable to return

Game Balls:
Pat Freiermuth - 3 rec, 48 yds 1-TD...caught all 3 targets.....he should be getting more throws his way than 3 targets per game
Cam Heyward - Playing some of his best football of his career and he's 35 years old. 5 tackles, 2 sacks today
Keanu Benton - Big INT today....his recognition on that play was excellent as he slid right into the passing lane....Jameis never saw him
Elandon Roberts - Blew up the Clowns on 4th & 1 as he blasted through the line and hit Jerome Ford for a 5 yd loss.....HUGE Turnover on Downs play
Mike Williams - 3 Rec 36 yds including a nice 1 handed catch on a back shoulder throw by Wilson. Hopefully he keeps improving week in, week out
Scotty Miller - 3 rec for 38 yds including a nice catch on 3rd down to keep the chains moving. He filled in good for Pickens today
Patrick Queen - He seems like he's settled into the Steelers Defense scheme. He has played great the past month or so. 10 tackles today
Steelers O-line - They are now reaching the level we expected them to be at start of the season. You can see they are starting to gel as a unit. Props to Dan Moore this game...he played very good!
Jameis Winston - He's the type of QB you'd love to see Cleveland ink to a Guaranteed 10 year $500 Million contract!

Game Goats:
Cordarrelle Patterson - WTF was this guy doing in the game late instead of Najee Harris? Needs to do a better job securing the football going forward especially during crunch time.

FU's:
FU to the Clowns, Coaches, players & fans! Take your medicine.....and go resign Jameis Winston......he has Cleveland written all over him! BIGLY!

No love for Van? 1 play but it was a significant one.

I would have given Benton the game ball as that O was stagnant until then…
Oh and Warren had a combined 70 yards he had a significant performance too.

I thought I saw Donte back on the field later in the game after he went out. When does the concussion protocol start?
Concussion protocol starts as soon as they are diagnosed. But, DJ's issue wasn't concussion related. Apparently he's beeen dealing with a wonky back and it flared up during the game.

Nothing for Russ? WOW.....I guess we are getting conditioned to expect him to be great every second half if he has a bad first half. He is bringing all that vet experience and it is paying off big time. Those throws where he is looking one way and then just flings it the opposite putting the ball in the perfect spot are silly good. Ben says on his podcast he believes they can win it all.

This was the cincy game but he talks about Russ and the team around 47:50

It’s a shame Waitman had his worst punt of the season late in the game @Cleveland, clinging to that 1 point lead. If that just went close to his average, and Browns had to navigate a longer drive in that snow, could be looking at 11-2 right now? But his 60 yarder to open his day was a nice, immediate bounce back.

Russ is the best qb this team has had since Big Ben. He's a guy you can win a superbowl with. He opens the window that's been closed for years.

Game Balls:
Corliss Waitman - Just booming punts today and changing field position.
DeShon Elliott - Led the team in tackles and had a great PBU.
Cam Heyward - Good work on the DL and added a couple of sacks.
Jaylen Warren - Very productive on the ground when the other backs had some trouble.
Pat Freiermuth - A big TD and an even bigger third-down conversion at a crucial moment.

SB BOUND!!!!!

And the narrative will be that Tomlin only won because of Russ. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah I could care less what their narrative is if they win playoff games. Where I am not usually supportive past the regular season that would change. Just win baby.

Tomlin has done a good job this year....yeah some boneheaded stuff like the fake punt deep in our own territory(forget which game), but overall I give him an A-
Yep ....I agree 100%.... we have a tough 3(or 4)game span here now. We need to finish strong!!!!

Shout out to Ben Skoronek. Kid is best special teamer on a team had best sp. Teamer in league last year. Couple great blocks too. Great teams have lesser lights that contribute consistently. I was real tough on Queen for first 1/4-1/3 of season. He looks like the player I'd hoped he would. I don't know the Chiefs game is a loss. They are gonna lock down Hopkins with JP or Jackson and high low Mr. Swift with Queen/Wilson and safety.
