The Pittsburgh Steelers bounced back with a big-time win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13, securing a thrilling 44-38 victory. The game got off to a rocky start when quarterback Russell Wilson threw a pick-six, but the veteran signal-caller remained unfazed. Wilson showcased his resilience and outdueled Bengals star Joe Burrow, throwing for an impressive 414 yards, three touchdowns, and just one interception.

Man, I was thinking about the decision the Steelers will have to make when it comes to Pickens.
Super talented no doubt about it but extremely immature and can become a problem for his team with stupid penalties.
I’m just not sure the organization will offer him a new contract at this point. He’s going into his final year in 2025 and they just might try and move him and completely rebuild the receiver room like they did the QB room.
I’d hate to see him go with all that talent but just how far do you go with his antics?

When is Tomlin going to be held accountable for the clock debacle at the end of the first half?
For a Steeler team that's usually fighting to win close games, its these inexcusable things that can lose you games.
If you are in Chicago its a fireable offense.

How can anyone see that in real time and not question Mike Tomlins IQ?
Doesn't get any more elementary than a play like that.

I thought he was an improved version this season. Perhaps he will continue to progress.

You are like a broken record

The debate is simpler than they want to admit. The owners care about their wallet and confirmed playoff wins. If a deficiency interferes with that they will address it, if not they will live with it and have.

Pretty much why I talk about Mike less and less. I know what the Steelers want and will focus in on that if need be when that time comes.

Not sure there is anyone in this board in the dark to every regulars likes and dislikes in regards to Tomlin.

We can call it a known known.

😀

Tomlin's clock management issues are like a broken record.
15 million plus a year
He can't even manage a clock?
Previous game against browns yeah, he mismanaged everything. This last game there's not a real reason to go all karen on him like you are

Not as big a deal as it is being made out to be. I was hoping for a timeout and shot into the end zone but consider the following:

With no timeouts and 13 seconds the defense is defending the end zone and has the end line as a final defender
With no timeouts a play that ends in bounds and not in the end zone, the clock runs out and no points
With potentially 6 or 7 defenders in the end zone it becomes unlikely for a completion
A sack ends the half with no points
A penalty incurs a 10 second runoff and no points
If its the end of the game, yes, bad decision not to save the time and get 2 plays to win
Its the end of the half and the Steelers were getting the ball to start the 3rd quarter, take the nearly sure thing

In my opinion, there is more negative than positive in trying to make a play there rather than take the sure 3 points.

9-3

this is about GP

Pickens is...
7th in yards with 850
25th in receptions with 55
14th in YPC with 15.5
3rd in receptions of 20+ with 16

He's on pace for a career high in receptions and yards. His lack of discipline is frustrating, but he stepped up this season. I'm not sure if he'll ever be that high volume WR1, but he's still one of the best playmakers in the NFL and hopefully he'll clean things up after this week.

The thread title is Tomlins message to GP and his continued bad behavior.

If they fail to win in the playoffs because of continued issues like this as they have for the last 7+ seasons, will you care that they were 9-3? Will it be enough for you?

I think it’s fair to say most of us who are entrenched against Tomlin are where we are because of long standing problems that lead to mediocrity and playoff failure, when we see them, we call it out because it will likely lead to the same result playoff failure.

These are the Pittsburgh Steelers. No one should care very much about 9-3, it’s about the post season and Lombardis

I do not want Tomlin as head coach. have not for years. but I do not take every thread to bash the guy. He is their head coach like it or not.
in order to get a chance to win a playoff game, you got to win a bunch of games. 9-3 is pretty damn good.

His coaching and pattern of playoff failure is the elephant in the room, it’s going to be a part of almost every discussion, that only changes with playoff success

If you don’t like it keep scrolling I guess

I care about 9-3 because it has the Steelers as one of the best teams in the AFC. I want the path to the Super Bowl to go through Pittsburgh.
Then you’d better hope Tomlin tightens this stuff up if you want the #1 seed and the playoffs to run thru here, #3 seed probably gets us 1 playoff game, if we can win it…

As long as Tomlin is here, we won't have that high volume guy. It's not his offensive philosophy.

As for Pickens himself, I thought the second penalty was pretty ridiculous to even call. I've seen way worse not called, I've seen coaches do a bow and arrow motion in celebration and nothing. For me, it's a non issue with Pickens and more with the league.

But Pickens has a right to be frustrated, he's not getting the calls on a constatation basis. Last week in Cleveland he's tackled with the ball in the air. This week, pulled down by the back of his helmet. It's as bad as Watt and holding calls at this point.

He's still very young, his third year in the league and he's still only 23. He's a freak talent that you don't let go.

Small stuff…no playoff wins in 7 straight years, long patterns of bonehead coaching decisions and undiscipline….we probably need to agree to disagree

Your condescension is pretty nauseating tho, it’s a chat board on Steelers football, people can criticize the head coach

you are right they can. to the point of stupidity. I wish you well.

Maybe Coolie can post what someone can complain about and what is off limits after a win. And also after a lose. Might clear up a bunch on the message board for everyone. 🤔 🥴🙄

Assuming you discount Hines Ward and Antonio Brown, of course.
