Falcons lost a 5th for doing what several other teams have done in the past by piping crowd noise into the stadium. They deserved it. And the Browns GM just got a meaningless suspension. So will the Pats lose a draft pick or picks?

I don't think there will be any proof of wrongdoing at all.

I still contend we lack a LOT of detail as to whether the refs even measured the footballs before the game, what those measurements were or how the elements affected the air pressure. We don't even know what the pressure was specifically for the 12 game balls measured at half time, whether or not they were re-inflated and re-used or whether new balls were brought in.

It's a complete clusterfuck of misinformation and unsubstantiated leaks to the media so far.

The whole "chain of custody" for NFL footballs is a mess and there is no way they can prove intent.

The NFL will conclude no evidence of wrongdoing but the "independent" investigation will lead to numerous new rules and changes on how game balls are managed, measured and handled. It's going to be a bunch of bureaucratic bullshit in the end.

I could not find the "**** no, are you kidding me" choice, so I said "no".

any other team would have been handed down a punishment

but Goodell loves Kraft

so nothing..............

if absolutely anyone thinks that goodell is going to punish his league CHAMPIONS for cheating....they need to get a serious grip

Punish the Pats*? Riiiight. Speaking of the Cheats, I'll just leave this here:

Nepotism Does in Ravens?
Deflate Gate remains unresolved and there’s little reason to believe at this point that the league will do anything about it despite what Roger Goodell claims. But don’t be surprised if Goodell at least keeps the discussion alive in a subtle way.

Why?

It may be an effective red herring and take attention away from an even more combustible development.

A source has revealed to RSR that Bill Vinovich, the crew chief for the Divisional Playoff Game between the Patriots and the Ravens, was fully aware of New England’s deceptive formations and has shared with his inner circle that he should have stopped play to clearly identify the eligible receivers for Dean Pees’ defense. Even more alarming is the fact that Vinovich is Patriots offensive coordinator Josh Daniels’ father-in-law.

Gee thanks Bill…a day late and a potential Super Bowl berth short.

They wont be able to prove balls were intenionally deflated. Therefore, they will award an extra first round pick (at the end of the first round) to the PAtriots for dragging them through this.

Don't worry. Ol Roger will take care of Kraft!

They cheat, they have cheated, they will continue to cheat, complete story. As long as fantasy football goes on there will be things to degrade the game we have known and played. Eventually it will get to the point of nascar, drag racing, basketball and baseball, sports that I used to follow as well and no longer do.

The more I look at this one I expect Harrison to be fined, and Ben to get suspended they did not need evidence last time.

They are expert at cheating, even though they have been repeatedly caught....but they have a whole different set of rules that they benefit from. Can't even watch NFLN yet...too sick of Goodell's league.

They will be awarded extra picks for being dragged through the mud and called cheaters. We all know they are perfect and have never cheated. Bill is a god and is infallible and Kraft demands an apology in the form of a First and a second round pick plus the suspension of Bell for the Steelers game against them.

Sorry I did not see the similar post above. Great minds think alike.

Standard Standard.

That's all you need to know.

Not a chance. I actually thought the NFL was going to hand out serious punishment to the Browns and Falcons. What a joke. I suppose if they really wanted to punish the Browns they could have given them another 1st round pick...Nothing hurts quite like missing on three 1st round picks in the same draft.

If it was another team, I could see them losing a late round draft pick.

I'll settle for what has already happened. A loss of credibility and integrity that taints their super bowl trophies due to cheating.

Lets see having fake sound which these players play in front of every week gets you lost picks, deflating balls making it easier to catch and throw and caught in a playoff game gets you....no decision or talk of by the league. Which ranks higher of having an advantage....come on Gödel prove once more your favoritism toward certain players or teams.

I think Roger takes a very tough stance with the serial cheaters, and takes away their 8th round draft pick.

THAT will teach them.

the NFL wants offense, so let every team inflate their game balls the way the want. take that whole element out of the officials hands. If you let every team do it you wont have to worry about it, and we may actually see scores of 83 to 78.

you play with your balls the way you want and I will handle my balls the way I want. (hehehe) problem solved.
