The more I read about the kid - the more I like the Steelers picking him at 1.22. My selling point? NFL comparison - Aquib Talib. That's a bonafide Pro Bowlers in the making! I just hope he's not fragile...

There are several draftniks slotting him at 1.22 and honestly, I prefer him there over Landon Collins or Bud Dupree - IF, and I don't know what Charlie Casserly is smoking, Vic Beasley is on the board at the same time as Marcus Peters - I think I will lose control of some of my bodily functions...

Discuss.

I don't see it happening. We've been burned enough recently taking character risks. There's a decent chance he's not even on the Steelers draft board.

What are his character risks? I would also add we have been burned by taking players that are not character risks.

A failed drug test, academic suspension, and multiple team.suspensions before ultimately being kicked off after a sideline tantrum.

Did he or did he not try to choke the **** out of a coach? If so, that's about as big a red flag as you could have.

the ability to tune out bullshit is one factor Tombert must consider since they're prone to dish so much out.

Those are things that would indicate the kid has problems that will only get worse after he gets money thrown at him. Depending on how far he falls if talent is there he might be someone worth a very late round pick. Issues like that are likely to have him falling on everyone's board. I believe there was a linebacker that fell down the draft boards and was picked up by a team after he went undrafted, and he seemed to straighten up a bit as far as I know, not sure on the name but was it Vontez Burfect?

That is the guy. Supe was telling me that he really wants and likes Peters.

what could go wrong???

you're just bitter that zayn malik is leaving one direction.

Peters has done everything right since being kicked off the team and he participated/will participate in Washington's pro day, which says something. There is a risk, but I'd feel more comfortable with him than some of the high-bust potential players that some mocks have us taking.

yes and did pretty well

Randy Moss had miles of problems before he made it to the NFL. We need CB and we need it bad. Even if he flames out after a few good season it would be worth it in my opinion.

Since being kicked off the team he hasn't had any trouble with the coach, players, or other teams? Shocking.

Trae Waynes>Marcus Peters

I've seen Waynes mocked anywhere from 11 to the Vikings, to 20 to the Eagles. But these are just media guys, when was the last time anyone came close to nailing the first round?

The coaching staff didn't have to allow him to participate in the team's pro day.

No. But the season is over now. What is it going to hurt? You really think he is going to choke out a coach or go off on another player during a pro-day? He's going to be running and jumping not playing football... where he generally gets into trouble.

I don't think we will ever get the full story... But it wasn't all him. If it was Washington would not have continued to pay his scholarship after he transferred... That tells me the coach wasn't to be overlooked either.

Can the kid make plays or not?.... He absolutely can

What incentive do they have to allow him back? If nothing else, if I'm a recruit, I see that I can have a major screw up and the coaches will still welcome me back after a period of time.
