PR/KR in the draft.

Actually somewhat surprised nobody has mentioned Andre Debose (KR/Florida)

When they used Blount he didn't do any better. Same goes for Wheaton minus a few he got past the initial wave.

I would call the difference between Archer's 17.9 yards per return vs. Wheaton's 24.7 yards per return pretty substantial in the world/analysis of kick off returners.

Wheaton, in fact, was 15th in the league in average kick return which is an acceptable "average" rate around the league and certainly not so critically poor to be worthy of serious investment in resources to improve it.

And I remind everyone that Antonio Brown was 6th in the league in average yards per punt return in 2013 and 10th in 2014.

So again, I ask, what was so vital for improvement that we needed to invest in Archer again?

I mean, Wheaton has been on the roster for TWO SEASON and yet not one of the coaches thought... "Hey, maybe our young WR that runs a 4.4 would be good at kick returns?" We used Felix Jones in 2013 (who now runs a 4.80 40-yard dash). Smart move there coaches....

Bottom line we HAD THE TALENT already on the team to be top-10 in punt returns and top-15 in kick returns yet somehow this organization thought that was so poor it required a THIRD ROUND INVESTMENT to try and improve it (to what or by how much I have no clue).

Stupid is as stupid does....

BOTTOM line, Archer didn't merit the 100+ page thread, he hardly merits this thread, for what it is.

Salute the nation

The things is I don't know anyone on here that loved the Dri pick. You just have some that hope it turns out for the good of the franchise. Because if it doesn't it will just join all the other bad picks we have had lately.

What about that kid Brelan Chancellor? I just watched some of his highlights for ***** and giggles. I think the kid can return kicks at this level

Definitely in rounds 4 or later. Never as a 3rd round comp pick. Otherwise feelings get hurt.

What if it is so late in the third round that it is, for all practical purposes, a 4th?

Then it doesn't matter, because those picks are irrelevant and disposable with a 0.0000000000001% chance of success.

Based on our past history, I'm sure guys like RB Lyle McCombs (5'-8" 171#) and WR Mario Alfred (5'-8", 180#) are on our radar.

I almost GUARANTEE we bring in Alfred as an UFA to push Archer as a return guy since he's from West Virginia. We love bringing in West Virginia UFA's every year.

Who are 'you guys'?

You and ark, who joked on the first page about the lack of value a late 3rd round pick has. According to THAT rhetoric, that 3rd we wasted was disposable anyway, as are presumably all picks after the 1st or 2nd.

Tre McBride-WR: Can be #4 or #5 wr and also returns kicks. William and Mary alum. I would take him in rd 5.

My mock

1. Dupree
2. Best Corner available
3. best safety or Corner

rds 4-7: Jeff Hauerman, Tre McBride, another OLB
