I think it's an awkward situation for this regime because they basically told him in 2013 that he wasn't "good enough" for his contract (or even a fair long-term renegotiation w/ guarantees) but yet now he's been our savior at the OLB position for 2014 and 2015 (and possibly 2016).
Sounds to me like Harrison got the last laugh.
I'm glad he's back, but it makes me upset we can't develop or keep a player to take over his roster spot.
I don't see it that way at all. He was offered a pretty nice contract, more than what Cincy wanted to pay him IIRC and then after one year, they got him back at a minimum contract. I also don't worry much about him taking away a spot from a young player given our draft history at the position. Granted it could change at any time, but it's been spotty at best and Harrison can at least play some snaps. This isn't like a Cam Thomas, who is a complete bum on the field, keeping a roster spot from a guy like Mauro or Williams.
