Well, that's good. Good for James. Good for the team (hopefully). And good for the sanity of this board.

In the 412 he's a starter and is out best OLB. In Tenn he's a bench giy

Steelers just posted this on facebook .. it is official !

So, he just wanted everyone to know his love and respect for DL.

Classy guy!

Nicely done Silverback.

Besides the fact we have all heard that a 1000 times before. Heck. What's one more time if it makes Harrison more classy of an individual.

Steelers re-sign LB James Harrison

The Pittsburgh Steelers turned to a familiar face to address questions they have at outside linebacker.

The team signed James Harrison to a two-year contract on Sunday, adding the 12th-year veteran to a position where they had just two players with NFL experience.

Harrison seriously considered the Titans because of his close relationship with Dick LeBeau, Tennessee's assistant head coach/defense who had been the Steelers' defensive coordinator for the previous 11 seasons.

Harrison's return to the Steelers puts off retirement -- or a return to it -- a little longer for the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

We be saved!!!

Almost three months after the Steelers melt down against the Ravens at Heinz Field during the first round of the playoffs, James Harrison, 36, has decided to return to Pittsburgh.
Harrison inked a two-year contract to finish his career that's been in question since his retirement prior to last season. Harrison returned after Jarvis Jones was injured during a week three game in Carolina.

Harrison had 5.5 sacks and 45 tackles last season in eleven games. During his career in Pittsburgh Harrison has 69.5 sacks and 662 tackles.

Interesting that its a two year contract. No financial details have came out yet.

I'd assume for cap reasons as a well and I'd be concerned if we need him for two years. Seems very similar to what Keisel did last year, though, they probably needed to keep Keisel for one more year (if he was healthy enough).

Finally! I was expecting this since before the FA period, bringing back Moats and Harrison to shore up the OLB position but I also said here that they would invest on a decent CB to start (splash FA signing)
So my predictions weren't completely correct unfortunately.

Thank God. I got worried when he said was considering the titts

If he went to the Titans, it would have purely been for LeBeau. There was little chance he'd even see the field with their signings. Odds are that he'll have a similar role in Pittsburgh that he had last season, which means a significant number of snaps.

I guess its for cap reasons but I can't imagine his signing bonus was very large so they wouldn't need to spread it out over two years. You wouldn't think anyway.

So why would the Titans sign a 37 yr old ...to make Dick happy? i just didn't see it happening. With what we have here I'm glad he signed with us though.

This is probably the best news I will have all week.

makes the most sense with what's available out there, for the Steelers and himself. Two years? If he falls off drastically, the carnage shouldn't be too great. Good news!

I think it's an awkward situation for this regime because they basically told him in 2013 that he wasn't "good enough" for his contract (or even a fair long-term renegotiation w/ guarantees) but yet now he's been our savior at the OLB position for 2014 and 2015 (and possibly 2016).

Sounds to me like Harrison got the last laugh.

I'm glad he's back, but it makes me upset we can't develop or keep a player to take over his roster spot.
