What's the point of creating a mock draft that has no basis in reality (i.e. we manage to get 3 picks in nearly every round without giving up much). Some of you guys have a ton of free time...

George Costanza to Steinbrenner "I think I've found a way for us to get Griffey and Bonds, and we wouldn't have to give up that much."

Because its the off season and there's nothing else to do. Don't take away these people's hopes and dreams, no matter how deluded they may be. Its all some of us have to hang onto in the rebuilding years.

Its
just fun. Much harder to trade up than down. Plus it cue's me to look at more players making me more informed about who we might be drafting.

Keep it realistic challenge:

This is a fun game but the trade offers can be stupidly unrealistic! Try playing the game while only accepting trades back that represent true value. Most teams use a points system assigned to each pick per round. In a nut shell its very rare for a team to offer 3 or 4 picks for 1. Example is trading back in the 1st you would usualy get that you that teams 1st and a 3rd, at best.. Back in the second gets you 2 and a 4 etc.

Also try trading back twice in later rounds to pick up extras in the 7th only to simulate possible comp picks.

Here is what I got :
Your score is: 5848 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 24 (ARI): Landon Collins, SS, Alabama (A)
Round 2 Pick 24: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU (A-)
Round 3 Pick 22 (ARI): Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State (B+)
Round 3 Pick 23: Donovan Smith, OT, Penn State (A-)

Round 5 Pick 29 (IND): Ellis McCarthy, DT, UCLA (A)

Round 7 Pick 24 (ARI): Shaquille Riddick, DE/OLB, West Virginia (B-)
Round 7 Pick 26 (DAL): Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska (A-)

Traded back 2 slots in 1st round to get an extra 3rd. Back twice in 5th to get comp picks.

I did some wheeling and dealing on this one

Went a different route with my picks and did not make trades.

Round 1 Pick 22: Shaq Thompson, OLB/ILB, Washington (B)
Drafted Thompson to play Safety. Reminds me a little of TP with his great football IQ and just a natural feel for the game. I feel he can play several positions but would be a nice replacement for TP with his ability to make splash plays.

Round 2 Pick 24: Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota (A)
Miller is not getting any younger and Williams would be a perfect guy to learn from Heath for a season or two.

Round 3 Pick 23: D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida (B)
Humphries is a nasty OT that gets the job done and plays until the whistles is blown, or sometimes after. I feel he can play LT and would fit nicely in the zone scheme.

Round 4 Pick 22: Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State (A)
Darby has a ton of talent but is still a little raw. Uses his speed too much to make up for mistakes.

Round 5 Pick 24: Charles Gaines, CB, Louisville (B+)
Gaines is a natural CB and has a great feel for the game. If he was 6' 200lbs he'd be a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Round 6 Pick 23: Travis Raciti, DT, San Jose State (E)
A very athletic player who didn't have a true position in college. I feel he could be a very natural 34 DE.

Round 7 Pick 22: Antwan Goodley, WR, Baylor (B-)
Goodley is a favorite player of mine. He has nice hands, speed, and route running and I feel would be a excellent slot guy.

Round 1 Pick 22: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (A)
Round 2 Pick 24: Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest (A)
Round 3 Pick 23: Za'Darius Smith, DE/OLB, Kentucky (A-)

Round 5 Pick 24: James Sample, SS, Louisville (A)
Round 6 Pick 23: Josh Harper, WR, Fresno State (A)

I really think the draft would be over before you could work out that many trades, hell training camp might be over.

I like these pics except for Peters and Payne. I dont think the risk is worth the reward on Peters in the first round. I like him as a player though. I doubt we will select a RB. We seem set with 5 RB's: Bell, Williams, Harris, Archer and Will Johnson. If we draft one it will be late day 3 as a practice squad/develop guy, IMO.

Traded back once, oh if only a draft like this were truely possible!
