So essentially Pickett and move up from 120 to 98 for Fields

As much as I didn’t want either Russ or Fields can’t argue those 2 > Pickett/Trubisky (our top 2 heading into last season)

About the same cap allocation taboot
May or may not work, but we knew Pickett/Trubisky wasn’t working

No real draft capital or cap risk either

Somehow I have no doubt Shades manages to get to 9-8 or 10-7 again tho and not win a playoff game…it’s what he does

I am probably in the minority here....but I think our team is a **** show at the moment. Fields is on a one year contract unless we pick up his option. If we don't we very well could be right back here next offseason with zeeo qbs under contract. Simply crazy.

I think Omar has a plan. He just fleeced the Bears by trading Kenny. It was genius if intentional. In fact it was diabolical if intentional.

If we pick up his option for what?.....$25 mill and he potentially won't play a down this season for us. Now that is a gamble.

I really didn't want Fields but under the circumstances, we got a great deal depending on how we deal with it.

Wilson has said he wants to stay in the Burgh long-term. IF he plays at even a Baker Mayfield "level" of play this year (which is what I expect), MAYBE he would sign a Baker Mayfield sized extension next year? He already will have made $163 million for 3 years of play and COULD take a deal for under $35 Milllion average for 3 years.

Fileds is just a one year rental if this is the case. He won't want to negotiate next year as a potential back-up to Russ. IF Russ is garbage, which I don't see happening, we can maybe negotiate a Gardner Minshew sized extension on him being that he is still unproven? IN any case, we shouldn't exercise the option for him this May. IMO

We will be here next season at this time talking about 2 more cast off qbs we just signed most likely.
