BIG FA signings/trades

Saints acquired LB Dannell Ellerbe and a 2015 third-round pick from the Dolphins in exchange for WR Kenny Stills.
The third-rounder is much more valuable than Ellerbe, who is way overpaid at $9.85 million and was going to be cut by the Dolphins. The Saints are going to have to try and get him to take a pay cut. Ellerbe figures to slide in as the Saints' middle linebacker, replacing recently-released Curtis Lofton.

Is Wallace gone now...how many deep threats with a non deep ball throwing QB does a team need?

Saints signed RB C.J. Spiller.
Spiller blew his chance at a big contract by suffering a broken collarbone last season. Now he resurfaces as part of a committee with Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson. The good news is, New Orleans is likely to run the ball more now that GM Mickey Loomis has eliminated Drew Brees' two biggest receiving weapons, Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham. The Cowboys and Patriots also looked in to signing Spiller.

I just have to SMH at the Steelers cap management. Everyone says the Steeler way is the right way but I couldn't disagree more. The Steelers have a very hard time letting people go compared to other teams and have a even worse way of getting rid of them. We never trade away anyone while they still have value and just end up cutting them after they're already washed up and over paid. Sometimes loyalty will really come around and bite you in the ***.

I really don't think he would be the first to look like a beast in college and just not really have what it takes in the NFL...as Supe says slow...slow..slow...both his mind and his legs...

Archie Griffin ... two time Heisman winner in college ... the very definition of a BEAST at the collegiate level .... hits the NFL aaaaannnnddd ... yeah, not so much. It happens.

I don't believe that loyalty is what is biting us in the ***. I believe it is poor talent evaluation and drafting that have caused the team to over pay for what we have on the team. Mismanaging the cap has also prevented us from making a play at a top free agent every year, something that used to be looked at as a way of augmenting good draft choices. One thing seems to have surfaced lately and it reflects on the last few years of drafting, one reason the younger guys have not been starting in the past seems to be that they were not better or even close to as good as what we already had. That was not always the case, as we had in the past the ability to let one guy go and start another with out losing a lot, those days seem to be gone.

I agree with that as well. Alittle combination of both imo. Yes our talent evaluation has been terrible. Also drafting players just because they were "best player available " rather than drafting for a need.

Well said. Bravo!

I've been thinking about the release of Trent Richardson since I saw it this morning...

Something just isn't right - the kid was a BEAST in college and we, the fans, have yet to see it in the NFL. Here's my query - are his shortcomings due to poor offensive scheme??? IMO, what would it hurt for us to bring him in for a look-see??? His role would be clearly defined...FOR CHEAP.

He is terrible. End of story. Honestly, the things he put on tape are brutal on the eyes.

Good move by the Dolphins get rid of Wallace 12 mill a year salary while giving away a 7th and getting a 5th in return. Stills can now be there deep threat and he will only cost them 1,2 mill for the next two seasons

AB was on twitter earlier lobbying to bring Wallace back,

Report: Patrick Robinson to visit Steelers
Michael Amato Mar 13 2015, 09:29PM

The Pittsburgh Steelers have begun the process to replace cornerback Brice McCain.

Pittsburgh will be meeting with free-agent corner Patrick Robinson, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

McCain signed a two-year deal with Miami this week, so the Steelers are in need of depth at the position. Pittsburgh clearly needs to get younger in the secondary and Robinson would fit the bill.

Robinson is a former first-round pick from 2010 and had a pair of interceptions with New Orleans last season.

tramon williams to the Browns according to SteelersDepot, 2 year deal

To me I'm just not concerned with CB signings of other AFCN teams, can any of them cover AB? Highly doubtful.

How did that work for us vs the Gays this past year in the playoffs???? What I am saying is we don't have to worry about the clowns in the playoffs, so better them then the Gays which I read were interested in him.
