Eagles agreed to terms with OLB Brandon Graham on a four-year, $26 million contract.

The deal reportedly includes $14 million guaranteed. Graham's return to Philly comes as a mild upset, as the local media had been skeptical he'd be back, while coach Chip Kelly has often struggled to find snaps for his talented pass rusher. It's a welcome move for the Eagles' pass rush, however, while Kelly must be confident he can find Graham more than the 524 snaps he played last season. Still only 26 (next month), Graham is coming off a 5.5 sack campaign.

Because free agency doesn't officially start until 4PM tomorrow...

Since he returned to his team no harm no foul...

I don't know if he was a RFA or a UFA but either way, he probably should have tested the waters a bit more. The Eagles barely played him and he looked good when he got his shot. My guess is he would have drawn some interest on the market.

Having said that, if the Steelers can get Worilds for something close to that, I'd be happy to have him back.

We can still negotiate and offer more money...that's why.

Gives me hope we can now get Sheard for 5-years, $25 million. That contract won't break the bank.

He was a UFA and was supposedly one of our targets. Not a huge Worilds fan, but if we can get him for 6.5 mil /yr it's fair...especially if we blitz him a lot more.

The free agent has to actually WANT to play for this team too.

The media made him a target of ours, but there is no sign Tombert even spoke to his agent.

Let's put it this way....rookie OLB's rarely start in our system, so it would be wise to get a FA OLB. This offseason we need to get a starting OLB or a starting Corner. There is no f'n way around that. If we don't get Worilds back now we have to try for Orakpo, whop will prob sign with ATL, or Clayborn. The guy that I have been wanting is Derrick Morgan. Rumor has it he will go to Carolina, but Morgan is young, and very good.

First off, guys set up in a town and sometimes they like it. He might have got a little more than market value to leave, but maybe he didn't want to. Second, 6 million a year is not cheap and this team will not be diving into the 6 million per year market. No way.

They don't play him much, so maybe he was signed to be traded for picks? They'll need picks to move up to get their QB in the draft.

So, would you trade #20 for a signed, sealed, delivered Graham? Or would you rather take your chances in the draft?

they gave 6 milion x year to c.allen last year ...

Del,

I agree. If this deal is possible... we need to do it. Sheard is really the odd man out with the Stains. He doesn't seem to cover space as well as Worilds so it would mean he does less of that--probably a good thing. Plus at 5mil a season it still allows us to go after an early round OLB.

He is clearly not going to be a Pettine guy. His injuries and suppressed play last year will lower his price. He was pretty studly at Pitt.

The Steelers can afford a few 6 Mill guys if they see something they like. If they can get a solid pass rush OLB for 6 mil range, they have to do it.

You want to pay $5m/year to a guy who got 2 sacks in 16 games? I know he had more, on average, the previous years, and maybe he was playing hurt last year, or something, but 2 sacks and 6 QB hits don't say "gets after the QB" to me.

I'd rather pay Worilds $8m/year for 7-8 sacks and 20+ QB Hits.

Surprised he didn't test the market more but who knows, maybe his agent was telling him the big money wasn't there.

Cobb reportedly left more than a million per year more from some teams to stay with the Packers. Sometimes people just are happy where they are and chose to stay for less than what they might get elsewhere. Got to remember it's not just about going to a new team, you got to move your family, leave behind possible business ventures and friendships you've formed in your time with the team.

I bet moats will have similar stats to graham while costing less than half

Worilds has been seen for a whole season and did not impress, an old James Harrison looked more effective. Worilds has been hurt most of the time and only played one full season and after he was given the franchise tag. That deal turned out to be a major waste. Free agents are not likely to want to come here unless they are making lots of money. They will not be joining an elite team that has spent the last decade contending for championships, those parts of the team have mostly gone away. They will be coming to a team that is in the process of rebuilding and it is unsure what part of the rebuilding process it is in. If I was a free agent looking for a team I would be looking for a chance to play for new england, they have found that cheating gets you championships and it is ok with the league. Further many of the guys will look better than they really were because of the cheating and that gets you better contracts or championships which gets you endorsements later. Why go through all the hard work to build a team when cheating is the answer.

We should try and get a few vets, I'm thinking electronic warfare specialists so they can jam the signals when Brady is going to the line. Completely jam all radio signals so their entire illicit organization is in a shambles when they play us. That should level the field. Also they could jam all communications between the zebras and the league offices as well to prevent some creative penalty calls as well.

Better just realize now that theyre going to sign Worilds for 7mil/yr and that's the only option theyre going to pursue

$7 or $8 million is too much for Worilds. $5 million per is as high as I would go. He was given a year to prove is worth and DID NOT do it. If they sign him and Moats looks better in camp and preseason, I'd have Worilds on the bench. He is not a definite starter in my eyes. He needs to be paid at the low to mid range of starting OLB's and not in the top 5 or 10.
