Week 17 Game Thread

Hard to believe we’re ahead with the way the defense is playing. They are killing is in the middle of the field.
 
We need something feom Watt and Highsmith....sooner or later.
 
Joey porter was overdrafted. Getting owned today.

Yep. They're getting carved up with the rush getting blocked up solid. This normally starts happening by mid-season every year.

Don't live in your fears. Fire zone now and then.

Every team does that. Almost like a poorly designed D scheme?
 
We have got to be the slowest team in the league.

We allow completions to receivers in full blown stride and then we are so far down the field that a mediocre QB looks like an HOFer as he runs for 32 yards.

Those last 2 plays, TJ was not held. He just can’t get to Geno.

So tired of people saying that. Wasn't he a WR in college? Coached WRs in college. A few years as a DB coach. One year as a DC. Never heard of him until he was hired by the Steelers. No where ever have I heard that he was a guru on defense of any kind....anywhere.

He basically was third string/scout team for two years. The quality of the practice reps he was getting couldn't have been the best.

Obviously, there are other ways to improve, but it's also possible he would have been playing this well had they just gone with him after Ben retired. It's not like he was given any opportunities to prove himself.

He was already given a "promise" by the Steelers when he signed his last contract, only to sit on the bench and watch Trubisky and Pickett **** the bed for nearly two whole seasons.

He was given a taste of what Tomlin's word is worth, only given chance when Tomlin literally had no other option.

I’m thinking that might be worth a try, Geno is way too comfortable. He’s got to feel some pressure
