LeSean McCoy traded for Kiko Alonso

Be funny if the Eagles go out and sign CJ Spiller now lol

Rumors are they are interested and he fits what Kelly likes to do with speed.

Would be even more funny if Spiller in Philadelphia and Kelly's system for $3 million/season outproduces McCoy with offensive guru Rex Ryan at $10 million/season.

If his plan works hes a genius....if they struggle, miss the playoffs the next three seasons he will be the skunk and canned. Hes makin a huuuuge gamble and ownership has put its faith in Chip. Thats a whole lotta faith.

Just had a thought
Herschel Walker trade...25 years ago one of the best running backs in the NFL was traded for
3x 1st Rnd picks, 3x 2nd Rnd picks, 1x 3rd Rnd pick, 1x 6th Rnd pick (a bunch of players from both teams and a few Dallas picks were swapped too)

In 2015 one of the best running backs in the NFL was traded for an injured linebacker.

Or one of the best RB;s in the league with some wear on the tires is traded for someone regarded by most to be up and coming star LB in his 3rd year.

Look, I'm not saying that Buffalo didn't get the better end of the deal but to compare it to the Herschel Walker trade is out there.

They were not going to extend him for the money he wanted + he was not going to take a pay cut and / or hold out.

Chip never used him properly never ran outta a I set always draw runs even if they get ap or Murray chip will **** up.

Smart move by Kelly. The league has devalued RBs, so he should have no problem getting a high quality guy in the draft.

The Eagles have TONS of cap space so that wasn't the driving factor.

The truth is the Eagles front office this off-season was already looking for a way to dump McCoy and his $11.95 million cap hit. Restructuring wasn't really going to work. And McCoy wasn't open to a pay cut off his scheduled $9.75 million salary this year. Come on, everyone here knows NO running back is worth that.

All signs pointed to the Eagles releasing McCoy just as they did with DeSean Jackson.

For the Eagles to turn that inevitability into a young, 2nd round prospect who already showed he can play with TWO years left on his rookie deal is amazing. The fact Alonzo played for Kelly and Kelly knows what he is getting off the field is even better.

Huge win for the Eagles but it really depends on how Kelly plans on spending all that cap space (at close to $40 million now). The smart move is take the shotgun approach and get 5 guys in the $5 million/year range to really improve depth. That tier-2 free agency group is where most of the value is at. History kind of shows going all in on the $50 million+ contract for the #1 to #3 top free agents every year doesn't work well. The Eagles were probably smart last year getting Malcolm Jenkins at $5 million and not Jarius Byrd at $9 million (which every Eagle fan wanted).

Now the stupid Eagles are complaining again. Serves them right. No fan base has won so little yet acts like they are owed so much.

I don't see it....They had plenty of cap space and no need to free up more. Especially for one of the top backs in the league. In my opinion this is a huge win for the Bills....Alonso is also coming off of a big injury, Chip is just trying to make it truly his team......Amazing he has all the power to do what he wants...Our HC inherited DL and now Bultler...Does everyone really think Tomlin has as much control as some think here? I would love to see Tomlin have control like this...then it would be sink or swim..he would own every decision made. If he fails all the sooner he would be out the door...If he succeeds all the better.

Kelly collecting ducks and getting rid of playmakers.

LeVeon Bell and our playoff game against the Ravens say otherwise.

Soooo...

The Eagles are missing a QB and a RB? And they may not have a competent WR unless they tag Maclin?

WTF is chop doing over there?!?!

Building his team ...his way apparently. Win or lose.

Somehow running backs don't matter to some fans- but marshawn was the most integral part of the 2x nfc champion seahawks.

The tag deadline is long gone, Maclin sure as hell isn't coming back now that McCoy is gone. Foles is probably packing a bag right now just waiting for a phone call. Most of the Eagle fans I know are livid right now.

some would even argue that he was an integral part in the Super Bowl

Everyone around me are Eagles fans...Not one I know is happy..

Ohhhh chippeh chippeh chippeh, you ornery lil scamp, you!

They obviously have a plan. Whatever that is, I have no idea. Look at CLE, they traded away Richardson and it worked out pretty great for them. They now have, um, you know that stud running back that led the lea. . . hmmm, who in the Hell do they even have?

Anyway, it's a bold and confusing move. McCoy is a beast. Buffalo could be a team to watch.

Kelly wants to prove his system. That's the bottom line. Get rid of Desean Jackson, Maclin, McCoy. You don't need playmakers. His system is so brilliant that you can win with Riley Cooper and Jordan Matthews.

This draft is loaded with WR and RB so maybe they get a stud at each and don't miss a beat, but don't count on it. Everyone expects Kelly to make a trade to get Mariotta and that will likely take one or both of his top picks.

This QB class is terrible. Winston looks like the only true 1st rounder. I'd rather Foles than anybody in this draft class. Eagles may end up giving him away.

Some would argue that the team that won the SB used 5-6 different backs and it didn't matter who they stuck back there they still won.

You just proved the point. You can find a stud RB in the 2nd round.

McCoy was a second round pick as well. It doesn't prove anything. Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round, so was Antonio Brown.

The point was supposed to be that the RB position is devalued, meaning just plug and play. And yet our offense really didn't start hitting it's full potential until Bell emerged. Too many people are under valuing the RB position, and what a stud RB means to teams. "oh we can find a stud RB in the second round", if it were that easy, there would be more "stud" RB's in the league.

By saying the RB position is devalued, you are saying when Bell's contract is up, we just draft his replacement and let him walk. You are saying that his two game suspension won't be that big of a deal because we can just draft someone that will equal his output for two games.

people saying RB is undervalued forget the trio of **** we were trotting out prior to Bell's arrival.

Running backs are hugely important but have short careers. At the point when they start costing you a ton of money and history indicates the decline is coming soon, get rid of the old and bring young, cheap legs. I'm not saying the Eagles clearly won this trade, but I have no faith that the Bills know what they are doing. Those idiots gave up their first round pick this season to move up a few spots for Sammy Watkins. That was dumb. They could have stood still and had Odell Beckham Jr. Or taken another WR later in a draft that was stacked with good ones. It goes to show how the Bills don't understand how to value players and positions.
